Last wednesday, after a few minutes of drive, the AT light started blinking so after driving for awhile to drop off my brother, i went back home. But i noticed that it was not shifting correctly already and it had a hard time getting up our driveway which has a small incline. I checked the ATF and it was full. I started it again, the blinking stopped and the power is back. Yesterday, we changed the ATF but didn't help much. The problem is intermittent. What should i check/do? Thanks.
I would check the throttle potentiometer for loose/broken wires. This is a black round thing with three wires, mounted on top of the injection pump's control lever. Don't loosen the 2 mounting screws or adjust it's position; this is critical. This device detects throttle position and sends a signal to the transmission control unit for proper shifting.
