sometimes it does,when the bcm detects that the voltage below threshold,it may not communicate with the ecm and now the ecm act erratically until the bcm mets the cycle (voltage cylce,ignition cycle,etc.).and the reason why the check engine light went out,thats because they met the cylce but the dtc still there and it is set as history in ecm.only scanner can clear them or by removing negative battery terminal 15 seconds or more.
entertainment or air or both,thats probably the reason why the installer needs to turn the ignition on.
