So VIC oil filter provide much better efficiency than baldwin? at more than half the price.

What was the basis for such claims? Any comparison test made, single pass/multi-pass efficiency? Please provide link.
USDM truckers are dominated by Baldwin, Cummins Fleetguard, Cat, Donaldson, Parker might as well compare them. Wix, Fram, Purolator, etc were originally intended for small cars.

JS Asakashi is definitely a japanese brand same as Vic you can easily find its website, may be made in indonesia or thailand. May be your referring to Sakura filter by ADR Group of Companies in Indonesia.

Also take note AIR and FUEL filters are as important as the oil filter dahil once contaminants passes through the air and fuel filter it will still contaminate the engine and the engine oil, running an engine with a good filter and good oil will not do you any good if you use a cheap China generic or private label/brand or K&N & other racing filters since in the end you'll end up getting the same contaminants in the engine and in the engine oil every time your engine sucks air/oxygen through the bad air filter and dirty fuel from the bad fuel filters.

Proof that K&N and other racing filters are bad at filtration and are just plain hype, please watch the link below from Youtube:

Finally someone who agrees with me re: K&N air filters. I've been saying that for years. The way they achieve more flow is to have a lot less efficient filtration. They try to argue it's only within a percent or so, but over a few thousand kms run that's gonna be a lot of contaminants sandpapering your engine.

Actually JS Asakashi is a Japanese brand which in order to compete with the other brands sends their materials from Japan to South Korea to assemble the whole filters to make the costs lower yet maintaining their material quality. Sakura and JS Asakashi are completely different with one another they have no business with each other. Some of the WIX USA filters are also painted in white color, also the previous Purolator for the Asian market was also white in color. Sakura wasn't the 1st one to use white paint on spin-on filters.

Yes yet people in order to save a few bucks then to buy the washable filters which are actually not good at filtering contaminants.

You can watch the actual video of the contaminants passing through the K&N filters compared with the other brands, also K&N was shown to have the worst filtration even when compared to a China generic filter.

Sorry but I think you misunderstood and are comparing apples with oranges.

VIC was tested 87% filtration for 40 Microns of contaminants(Size of dirt particles) for 5 minutes and after 10 minutes VIC filtration dropped by 6% from 87% to 81% for the 40 microns size of contaminants.

Baldwin was tested 85.44% filtration for 12~30 Microns of contaminants(Size of dirt particles)

VIC's testing was using 40 microns which is 10-28 microns or 43~75% bigger than Baldwin's average 10~30 microns. VIC was only tested for 10 minutes which is very alarming since it dropped 6% immediately based from the tests.

What you need to compare is VIC's 10, 20 & 30 Micron filtration rating with Baldwin in order to get the most accurate comparison:

    VIC testing 30 microns: 71% and 10 microns: 4% at 5 minutes
    VIC testing 30 microns: 68% and 10 microns: 4% at 10 minutes

Baldwin testing 12~30 microns: 85.44% unknown duration of test
