Interestingly, Magnatec has higher API rating at SM. Castrol Edge has SL lang yata.

Bought mine at P265/L while it was on sale, sana sa next oil change sale sila uli... hihihi

Sa isang pag-aaral ng Performancd Oils noong 1998 ang mga langis ay nilagay sa isang 5 liter dynamoter at kinumpara ang pagbago ng: "[SIZE=2][SIZE=1]whether any of the oils would improve horsepower; whether any of the products would lose viscosity; evaluate (the) ability (or lack thereof) to prematurely wear components or suffer from discoloration. As it turned out, discoloration didn't prove to be a factor."

    Ang rank pagkatapos ng pag-aaral:
    #1 AMSOIL
    #2 BP Visco 5000
    #3 Mobil 1 5W-50
    #4 Mobil 1 0W-40
    #5 Hi-tec HTO

    #8 Castrol R
    #9 Castrol SLX

Baka sa US ginawa yung test. Anyway, there's been a lot of development in the motor industry since 1998.

Petron lubes are good enough if you'll have oil and filter change every 5000km or shorter if you have but a worn engine.

Check the oil requirements of your vehicle e.g. API, SAE, MB, MAN, ACEA, JASO, CATERPILLAR, ILSAC, etc.

One can use a higher viscosity oil (than required by the manual) for older engines 100,000 km and higher.

i use to love mobil 5w40 on my 4d56 gen2 pajero but the prices are now so expensive so am considering RP or motul 15w40 for my diesel pick up on my next oil change.

I love how Magnatec is making my Revo purr right now. Obviously bagong change oil pa lang kasi, so let's see how it performs in the longer term.

OT: I am using Purolator as my oil filter now. US made (daw). Cheaper than VIC (Japan) and Bosch (Korea). Got it from Ace Hardware Megamall, around P170 lang.
