October 19th, 2010 02:01 PM #57Baka sa US ginawa yung test. Anyway, there's been a lot of development in the motor industry since 1998.
Petron lubes are good enough if you'll have oil and filter change every 5000km or shorter if you have but a worn engine.
Check the oil requirements of your vehicle e.g. API, SAE, MB, MAN, ACEA, JASO, CATERPILLAR, ILSAC, etc.
One can use a higher viscosity oil (than required by the manual) for older engines 100,000 km and higher.

i use to love mobil 5w40 on my 4d56 gen2 pajero but the prices are now so expensive so am considering RP or motul 15w40 for my diesel pick up on my next oil change.

I love how Magnatec is making my Revo purr right now. Obviously bagong change oil pa lang kasi, so let's see how it performs in the longer term.
OT: I am using Purolator as my oil filter now. US made (daw). Cheaper than VIC (Japan) and Bosch (Korea). Got it from Ace Hardware Megamall, around P170 lang.
