Exactly. But they won't because it will eat into their profits.

The term is relative so I don't see any false advertising. Their claim is that their warranty period is "pangmatagalan". This is true. So true that it dies a few days after the warranty. No false claims. Just truth in advertising (sarcasm).

Similar to planned obsolescence. I wish more people would learn about better battery brands.

Thank you for clarifying that as sarcasm. lol

Yeah, if you put it that way, I guess the slogan flies.

But seriously, anyone who thinks that warranty=lifespan is just after your money.

That's why Motolite is booming.... their batteries die sooner rather than later, they have the most dealers and retailers, the best marketing, and have the widest presence in the country. Where do you think all that marketing and supply chain money is coming from?

Yeah, RAMCAR is a conglomerate. But forgive me if I don't see the connection to their car battery lifespan being piss-poor.

Maybe they're using surplus KFC gravy in their battery manufacturing process somehow? God forbid if it's the other way around. lol

Better backread. Someone asked how the company is still viable.

Anyway I think Motolite is like Toyota. Its the name factor.

    Ahh.. gotcha.

Brand-recall is probably the only reason they're thriving. They've managed to capture most of the car battery market with their main brand along with their sub-brands. They've really set the bar too low, IMO.

    For sure...

Their R&D figured out just how much material to put in so it'll last just a hair after the stated warranty expires... give or take a few weeks.

Their goal is not to create the best product, but to integrate planned obsolescence into it... and then ensure that battery replacement is a straightforward process (hotline, delivery, thousands of storefronts, etc.)

Yes, I think that's their business strategy. Since their batteries die suddenly after the warranty period, the motorist will need to call their 24hr delivery hotline to be rescued. They should make this a case study in business school. Brilliant.

Anyone using Varta? You'll hear about it usually in euro or luxury car circles but also a really good battery.
A friend had one for 7-8 years and it was basically the same battery the whole time he had the car (from initial purchase until sold).

Only if shrewd business practices are ok. Is it just "diskarte"?

Almost every other international forum I've seen have had their car batteries last 5 years or longer.

Motolite is laughing their way to the bank and it's saddening to see that many people still fall for their tactics.

Apologies. I was being sarcastic again.

Yes, they are. They have the average motorist hooked on their ecosystem for a mediocre product.

No, I did get the sarcasm.. haha

Just stating that for most motorists, parang napaka-casual at inconsequential ng magpalit ng battery. It seems na-normalize na ni Motolite yung lower lifespan expectation at tanggap na ng madla na ganyan lang talaga ang buhay ng battery. That's the saddening part.

That is the sad part. Settling for the sake of convenience. We're still talking about batteries, right? Ha ha!
