I have Amaron on a car that's driven 4-5km once a week. I think 3 years old more or less, need to find the receipt to be sure. Still starts up every time.

i got an amaron several months ago. ... matagal pa bago may masasabi...

When the battery died on 13th month, nakapag claim ka ng warranty nito doc?
At least 2 batteries in a price of one batt if na claim mo nga warranty.
Baka din dahil sa frequent turned off engine during stoplight kaya nag shorten yung lifespan.
Sa FC lang ata advantage nito but not on battery.

Which batteries nowadays have a 24-month warranty? Parang mga 21 months nalang yata yung mga top end models.

    It's a 2007 WRX hawkeye.

Old tech and not many electronics gadgets drawing vampire power in that thing.

OK, it make sense since the car is not power hungry.

Looking for someone with power hungry car na nagtagal battery nila.
Features such as auto-folding side mirrors when unlocking/locking the door, auto on display sa dashboard, auto on red light sa side windows seems eating up battery juice.

6 to 10 computer modules in there.... hardly old tech.

At least at the local market, cars around the 2000's started to extensively rely on computer modules. About the time OBD2 became the global standard.

Despite having a shorter warranty, I'm willing to bet that the Amaron will still last 2x to 3x as long as the Motolite.

I was surprised to find out that Exide (at least in India), have warranties that ranges between 24 and 77 months.

This is the for the TOTL Exide EPIQ. 42 months of replacement with the remaining 35 months por-rated. Impressive.

That's impressive. We have low expectations due to Motolite's on the dot warranty.

yes, it also surprises me, that motolite predicts with un-erring accuracy, that their battery will die a month after warranty lapse.
    heh heh heh.

I think you're missing the forest for the trees... 42 + 35 months warranty.

I think people wouldn't care whoever made it as the warranty duration speaks to its quality and the manufacturer's confidence towards their products.

Heck, if Motolite offered it, I'll take back everything I've said about how sneaky and insidious they are. :D

They got it down to a science. It dies less than a week after the warranty expires. I will NEVER go back to Motolite. My first Amazon lasted 7 yrs (2013 to 2020) The Amaron I replaced it with is still going strong.

and you know the corollary to that?
that they can make their batteries last much longer if they wanted to.

Well at the least, they're guilty of false advertising with their "Pangmatagalan".

It's almost like a tongue-in-cheek joke with a wink. I can't see them saying that with a straight face.
