July 29th, 2016 02:30 PM #1252the 11.9 volts is the battery's innate voltage. but as all voltmeters have an inherent +/- accuracy value, say, 10%, the actual voltage can be anywhere between 10.71 volts to 13.09 volts.
once the engine starts, the 13-14 volts measured is actually the alternator's output and not the battery's.
how can you get a more accurate reading? get a more accurate, usually also much more expensive, voltmeter.

Dropped by handyman a while ago to check on batt chargers and the only brand available is panther. Charges 6 and 12 volt batts. It's priced at under 2k

July 30th, 2016 09:35 AM #1258Yes, correct. It is an automatic smart multi-stage battery charger. Kapag puno na ang battery, it will switch to floating charge mode. You can keep the charger connected or remove it when you want. Sa D3 din.

July 30th, 2016 09:36 AM #1259Ganito operation nya:
1. Recovery stage - pulsed charging recovers deeply discharged batteries
2. Bulk charge stage - high then medium charge rate to reach 80% capacity.
3. Absorption stage - low charge rate until 100% capacity.
4. Maintenance stage - drop in voltage will trigger floating charge to maintain full charge.
