Ayoko na talaga sa Amaron. My 3smf installed on 9/4/2015 is again dead. Nag lobo na sides. To think this was a replacement unit. And weekly top up with Ctek battery charger.

    Panasonic naman.

damn.. I thought a ctek would extend the life, but warranty length means battery life in my opinion. anything longer is bonus

That's what I thought when I read this statement below. With no battery acting as a "sink" or regulator, the alternator will be putting out probably more than 14V-16V which isn't good for the electronics of modern cars.

It just so happened that I'm so used with old models that what I know are somewhat outdated.

For example with this Isuzu I used before, you can actually start it within a battery. I think modern diesel engines won't run with a totally dead battery, much without it, since it needs power to open the solenoid valve for the fuel supply.

15V is still ok ... without battery, voltage can spike up to 100V in some cases ...

Suggested Amazon to a friend... he’s asking if it would have the z4 or h6 type? He said that the group size is 48.

The equivalent in motolite is the d26L but it doesn’t fit in the car’s battery tray and bracket.

Maybe there is something wrong with your vehicle's alternator or charging system ... did you ever remove/disconnect the battery while the engine was running? ...

That test worked back when cars didn’t have too many electronics. If you pull out the terminal with the engine running, you’re letting your electronics to receive max volts which can end up frying them if they can’t handle it.

Best test is to use a voltmeter. Voltage should read between 13.8 to 15.3 with the engine running and nothing else turned on.

I'm also using CTEK battery charger, but not for Amaron. I'm using it for the factory issued battery. Perhaps I'll update this CTEK two years from now.

A competent mechanic would check the voltage output ...

How many months did the original and replacement batteries each last?
