These are the challenges of new Geely PH president | Autoindustriya

The company has announced that Yugo Kiyofuji will be the new president and CEO of the company effective April 1.
While Geely may be a Chinese auto brand, the distributor in the Philippines is very much Japanese; it is part of Sojitz Corporation. That is why the top management have been Japanese, and why they follow the business tradition of bringing in new leadership to coincide with the start of a new FY.

The appointment of Kiyofuji is a key one because he is not a traditional Sojitz executive given his experience. He has been with Nissan and with Isuzu, and thus brings with him many years of lessons from those major Japanese auto brands.
"I have 3 main challenges," said Yugo Kiyofuji. "The first is to bring the high-quality products that customers want. The second is to grow the network so we can serve more of our customers."

"The third is of course to work on customer satisfaction. We are working to improve the quality of service and the supply of parts," continued Kiyofuji.

Why did Geely PH prices shoot up? | Autoindustriya

One example is the Emgrand Comfort sedan. When we reviewed it, the price was PHP 798,000 which is outstanding for its size and features. Today, it's PHP 945,000. That's a huge difference of PHP 147,000.

Another is the Okavango. The Urban Plus variant is now retailing for PHP 1,765,000. When we reviewed it last year, it was PHP 1,478,000. The difference is a whopping PHP 287,000.

The price increases were across the board, though other units experienced smaller price increases depending on the variant. Many are asking: What gives? What happened to the value proposition of Geely?

We caught up with Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) executives at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) and we were able to ask why. The answer involves many factors like rising shipping costs and parts costs, but the single biggest reason is the exchange rate.

Naging ka presyo na pala niya yung mga Jap brands dito.
Let's see how the sales will hold-up after this increase.

Korek! Up for this. Any owners of Coolray here? Would like to hear some feedback like the cost of ownership/maintenance, build quality thru time etc.
