Chevy Sonic!

Can't test coz bihira ang humps sa lucena pero I can't recall na bouncy ang sonic namin. Sa slex pag mabilis dumaan sa maliliit na tulay ang city namin tumatalbog sa dugtong ng kalsada (mas mataas ng konti ang part ng tulay) pero pag sa sonic parang patag lang ang dinaanan. Sa riles ramdam na ramdam sa city pero sa sonic parang wala lang. Gano kataas ang humps dyan? Pacheck mo kaya yung sonic mo?

i mean test like ugain mismo by pushing the trunk...

may nakausap ako sa ibang sonic forum, mga taga US, sabi nila normal lang daw na mas malambot ang likod. and besides comfort ang hanap at hindi daw racing. kung i-mod daw ito that time gagawing stiffer ang shocks sa likod. nung unang sakay ko talaga ng sonic pansin ko pa nga matigas at parang mas stable ang suspension compare sa gamit ko dati ditong company car namin (camry)..

Hi guys! Im torn bet. the chevy sonic and ford fiesta sedan. Its gonna be my 1st car. any suggestions for me? Im really concern regarding the maintenance of both cars. Ung price and availability ng mga spare parts bothers me most. and panu po ba ung fuel consumption ng chevy compare sa fiesta? alin po ba mas maluwag ang driver's seat and passengers seat ng both cars. hi ate, I own a chevy sonic sedan 2013, isa lang po ang masasagot ko sa tanong nyo...
mas maluwag po ang interior ng sonic compared sa fiesta. my officemate even told me na mas maluwag ang passenger leg room ng sonic kumpara sa corolla (altis)..

sa fuel consumption po hindi ko masasagot yan kasi wala ako sa pinas..and yung engine po na available dito (saudi arabia) is 1.6L compared sa atin na 1.4 lang. same goes with maintenance and parts, dito available at mura compared sa atin.

Sonic is not the best choice kung fuel consumption at parts ang priority mo. That said, both the cabin and trunk are big, with 60/40 folding rear seats. Madami ding useful feature na wala sa ibang model. It is also very comfortable to drive on very long distances.

Less than 5k yung first pms namin if I remember correctly. Next pms namin will be less than 10k. Mas mahal pag fully synthetic oil.

Sa 6 months, oil change and break cleaner. Sa 1 year, additional palit mga filters.

In my observation, malakas sa gas pag long idle so i turn off the engine pag naka waiting like pag sinusundo misis ko or sa parking. Best on gas between 60 to below 80. Hindi sya para sa nagtitipid sa gas. On the other hand, best sya for long drives coz of the seats. Given its overall features, I will still choose it among currently available cars of the same class.

Hello po mga ka sonic tatanong lang po san murang magpagawa ng side mirror for sonic yung mura. Ang mahal kasi sa casa 9k na yung isang side mirror yung sa driver's side lang kaya parang nagdadalawang isip kami kumuha. salamat po sasasagot

Hello all, sorry for the slight necro post, but this is the only sonic thread I could find....

Following my purchase of a tbz, now looking to get a small car as an extra one for the wife and me, and considering the sonic hatch. Just wanted to ask:

1) how is it holding up for owners through the years? Any major problems? Are parts a problem as casa?
2) is the engine really that underpowered, as claimed by several reviews? Given what I've read here, fc isn't that horrible at 6-8, I can live with that.

honestly medyo may problem ang sonic pag automatic yung transmission. may time na nag under power sya. and in terms of fuel consumption may kalakasan compare sa vios. but sa manual medyo ok naman. wala kameng gaanong concerns sa casa pag dating sa engine. but eto naman ang bawi nya. smooth ride. maganda ang cabin. classic ang design ng body. matibay din ang pang ilalim. aircon is good also.thanks.

Wala akong problem sa pag overtake sa highways. Ginamit din namin sa pag akyat sa Baguio. We even drove to La Presa in Mt Cabuyao without a problem. I had to shift to manual mode from time to time para mas controlled ko sa steep drives. Very stable din sya sa curves.

Good to know! I've driven old cars with heavier bodies and less hp, and didnt feel it was underpowered, kaya nagtaka rin ako bakit sabi nila underpowered sa reviews. For me, being underpowered is different from NOT being a hot hatch.

Wala kaming naging problem nung dinala namin sa Baguio kahit nung pumunta kami sa La Presa. PMS is cheaper than our previous honda city.
