Are the chevy sonic sold here got turbo like the one sold in the US?

The answer is NO.

The blown 1.4L that the Sonic LTZ gets in America is good for 138 crank HP (the turbo Cruzes get this mill too). Local units get the same engine, but shorn of its turbo, so it's rated for 99 HP at the crank.

It's actually a pity as one of the Sonic's only real downsides is its weight - it's around 100 kg heavier than a Jazz, 2 or Fiesta.

theres more better "B" segment cars out there with a more competitive pricing and better FC than this...looks great though Im not that amused with the Digital speedometer and gauges... IMHO ;)

It is priced between the 1.3 and 1.5 city so I can say that the 1.4 sonic is priced similar to the city. Seen both and I saw more features on the sonic like rear fog lights, backing sensor, dual glove compartment, steering wheel controls, 6 speakers, bigger trunk floor (new city space near rear seats looks narrower), driver side sunglass holder, auto fold side mirrors, 16" mags, 60-40 rear seat fold, manual mode, dohc, and better looks (in my opinion). Downside from initial reviews are heavy handling and fc.

Walang test drive unit sa san pablo but they gave us a test ride sa hatchback automatic sa likod ng sm. Small rectangular area but we were around 50 km/h sinabi ko kasi gusto namin makita mag accelerate. Can't comment until they have a test drive unit we can use pero ok sya sa cornering kahit mabilis.

We then went to hyundai walang accent 1.6 but we saw the elantra 1.6 hindi kami impressed sa features. Yung mga feature na gusto namin sa sonic nasa high end elantra or sonata mas lalo tuloy kami impress sa sonic.

Last stop mitsubishi may mga maling info na sinabi sa min and nakipagtalo pa ko sa 60/40 rear seat fold ayaw maniwala na puede sa lancer ex until I showed them. Yung trunk space sobrang liit talaga and features nya pang older cars so di rin namin gusto.

Sabi tuloy ng misis ko sonic pa rin ok lang di mabilis mag accelerate para di sya masyado mag overtake :-)

After visiting honda mitsu hyundai, sonic ang gusto ng misis ko so unless may lumabas na better model baka yun na after ng last payment sa city next month :-)

It's because of the engine. Sa US ang Fiesta killer ay ang Sonic 1.4 turbo.

Pinag-iisipian ko din kung kukuha ng Sonic over City... hirap mag decide... kung pwede lang sana na both! hehehe!
