I'm considering a Captiva for a next car. But I've heard that the casas overprice (the very reason I've learned to hate Hyundai). Where can we find Mario?

Mario has a shop somewhere in Congressional/Luzon Ave. He also does home service but of course mas mahal pag home service. His phone number para sure ang address.
    Cell number 09187801507

Thanks... Chevrolet Carmona replaced the speed sensor, covered pa ng warranty... Second, yung rear wiper, kahit iswitch mo, minsan di mag-on, minsan naman di mag-off... Third, yung speed sensor... Fourth, sa steering, replaced the whole assembly... Sa engine performance, ok sya mabilis talaga... Kaso, overall, nakakapagsisi...

Hard starting? Never had this problem with my Captiva which is now more than 100K on the odo. Ang naging problem ko lang was the steering rack which was replaced under warranty. Yung starter motor ko nagfail din at around 70K, which is ok considering na dami na tinakbo. Had it repaired lang and ok pa siya hanggang ngayon. Hard starting could be due to failing battery or water sa lines mo. Diesel ba captiva mo? Have your fuel filter checked and bleed baka may tubig. I always gas up at Seaoil and Unioil. Have you air filter checked din baka madumi na. Yung MAF sensor pacheck mo din.

Papa anong kinatwiran mo dito?

hi captiva owners. i would just like to ask for your opinion. a friend of mine offered to sell me his 08 captiva diesel for 650k pesos. it is first owned, clocking at less than 50k mileage and i know it was properly maintained. good value naba yung 650k asking price nya? . honestly, with no offense meant to anyone, im hesitant with the chevy brand, but if it is a good deal then i think i would grab my friends offer, rather than look for a 2nd hand fortuner from some random seller i dont know. i have been browsing the net for reviews of the captiva and so far these are the problems with the captiva as what i've read:

    1. fuel consumption not that efficient
    2. interior easily gets scratched
    3. expensive parts and labor from casa
    4. parts are scarce
    5. rust on muffler parts (even on month old units)
    6. white to gray smoke coming out from the muffler
    7. blown engine gaskets due to unknown reasons
    8. bad after sales/service from casa

can you guys point out which among these are true or untrue, the reviews ive read are not only from philippine websites. any other problems you guys personally encountered with your respective units? any major problems to look out for like the scv issue from earlier fortuners?

and also, are there 3rd row seats available for sale in the casa or aftermarket shops? and how much? my friend's captiva is the 5 seater variety only.

    thank you.

hey guys, after reading this entire thread, i've decided to pass on my friend's offer. out of warranty na rin kasi ang captiva nya. and i think 650k is gonna be a huge gamble on my part. thanks.

I have a 2008 Captiva with 110k on the odo. Still in very good condition. As long as it is well maintained then it would be a good buy. But that's your choice. Had my 3rd row seats done before by Seatmate and it's quite good. With regards to interior easily scratched? It's not. It soft vinyl dash including the door not like other cars which are of hard plastic. The luggage area is of plastic which if properly cared for doesn't get scratched easily. Parst are available in Thunder, Seiring and Fronte. They're comparable in price to ford or honda. The white smoke in the mornings are normal pag uminit na makina wala na usok. It's Yung may mga injector problems is just isolated cases. Never had problems with my injectors. Just follow regular maintainance and godd quality diesel like Unioil and your good. Minsan may usok pag bihira ang out of town mo is because the dpf is regenerating and mawawala din usok later on. Rust on muffler parts, that's just rust superficial and won't go deep enough to eat the iron through. I had a small rust by the muffler hanger but just sanded it and applied paint and never came back. Up to now 5 years na wala pang nabutas o napalitan na muffler. Blown engine gasket? never heard of that in the casa according to mechanics not even from fellow captiva members. Quezon ave. casa is good. You can have your car checked by other competent mechanics like Mario. He does my regular PMS. So far napalitan sa akin is Fuel filters on regular basis accdg to manual. Fuel filter casing once, ATF change by Fronte Motors. Repair of starter which faile at 80k odo but that's fine considering my mileage. It's still ok til now. Batteries changed twice. Changed horn. Steering rack end replaced once. Stab link changed also. I'm satisfied with my ride and sulit na for me considering 110k na ang tinakbo. It's up for you to decide.

I wouldn't recommend to buy Captiva even though I have one. I bought one 3 years ago and it was fine and had no problem at all aside from the usual maintenance. Last December, my car - Captiva was brought to Chevrolet Quezon Ave. for service due to some cracking sound and we were told the problem was oil seal and bearing???(don't know exactly the problem since it was my wife and daughter who brought the car for service). We were told that the parts have been ordered and it will take 3 to 4 weeks before the parts will arrive. After 1 month, we were told that not complete parts arrived and that we have to wait for another month. Come February 7, the date we were told that the rest of the parts will arrive, but for whatever reason, only 1 of the remaining parts (4) have been delivered. Can anybody please advise me for any course of action I should take? Legal? I am really fed up with the inefficiency of TCCI's service. Imagine 2 months and we are still waiting for parts? Any advise will be greatly appreciated!

My captiva also has a cracking sound kasi tuwing bumabagsak sa malalim na lubak ang rear passenger side but i tested it naman sa rear driver side wala naman sound.

my cars odo is around 37k km and have already changed the following parts
    - turbo* 20+k km ( price* 75k kung hindi daw under warranty)
    - fuel injectors* 30k km (price * 20-30k each if walang warranty)
-horn at least 4 times or 5 * 1k-10k( I already change to aftermarket horn para d na din pabalik balik)
    - aircon not cooling at bumuga pa ng ice before even reaching 5k km ( binaba ang dashboard)
    - change my shift lever assembly before reaching 15k km kasi my ng squeak dun kapg pinipindot ung shift lever button
