Dapat automatic for an old guy like me who is tired of manual cars.

Carens is too expensive at 1.2M with Start/Stop button. Ang baba pa ng chin. Palagi kong nababangga sa parking.

Livina is too narrow and uninspiring. Abot ko ang opposite window withouth stretching too much.

Avanza is too narrow also and is taxi material.

Spin na lang ba ang natitirang MPV option sa Pinas? I like the interiors and 6 speed AT at low NVH daw. At di sya taxi
Honest opinion here, if you want something refreshing, go with the Spin. Madali siyang i-drive and it's perfect for a Sunday cruise with your family.

PMS schedule pala nito is every 10,000 kms.

Like I said it will always be jumpy at first coz it's brand new. perception seem to be no difference at all between a 1.6L accent or a 1.3L spin power. But add some time to it, maybe months to a year, with some dirty diesel on it plus dirty engine oil, plus wear and tear sa tires as well as suspension / MT transmission owner driving style, and we'll feel the difference between 1.6L vs. 1.3L. Dapat nga the 1.3L should be the sedan accent coz it's smaller and has lower ground clearance. Pero in this case, the 1.3L is the workhorse pa with the bigger body Spin.

The only cases where I've seen crdi vehicles losing their so-called jumpiness are with taxi units that are not maintained properly, basta pasada lang ng pasada. I've ridden an accent CRDI taxi that religiously follows its taxi-interval maintenance schedule (owner driven) and at almost 200,000 kms, you can still feel the seat-pinning torque when it accelerates and still runs smooth at 100km/h.

Dirty engine oil? Unless you don't change oil or put dirty engine oil when you do so (now why would someone do that to either a diesel or petrol engine?). Dirty diesel? Again, accent crdi TAXI. Unless you don't change fuel filters.

An adventure, crosswind and revo diesel has lower amounts of torque but can still do workhorse duties even after a decade of hard use. Why not the spin which is considerably lighter and with even more amounts of torque?

With today's technology, the saying "no replacement for displacement" no longer applies to all.

Accent crdi is 1.5L so you just proved my point,

Dirty engine oil can be anything from Casa drum oil or technicians + supervisors conniving that they pretended to change oil but keep the unopened containers and sell to Sulit.com.ph. I have been offered many times by friends who said they know someone inside who sells oil at cheaper price. So dirty means you think your engine oil was changed at PMS but not ..

Adventure, crosswind and revo has bigger displacement. I cannot really accept that today's technology no difference in displacement, when most cars today like the corollas are getting 1.8 to 2.0L and vioses getting out of the 1.3L,

It's only the ford ecosport and the spin that's going backwards, mini-SUVs with 1.0L and 1.3L. To me that's still and wait and see in this unique country of ours Only in the Phil's.

And besides, why did Chevy Phil's. Not release the AT version of this 1.3L spin diesel, bec. They too aren't sure of its power in the long run. At least with MT, their decision is safer.

Ford's ecoboost engines are tiny 1L engines with more power and torque than 1.5L or 1.6L engines.
More power than the 2014 1.6L CVT Altis (122 hp) while the Fiesta 1L has 125 hp.
The 1.6L Altis has 154 NM torque while the 1L Fiesta ecoboost has 170 NM .

But because it ecoboost engine is so yummy, the 1L Fiesta S is more expensive than the 1.5L Fiesta S.
A true hot hatch with small balls that spins fast and pushes hard.

    Tapos 3 cylinders lang.
    Yumyum!

1.5 isn't far removed from 1.3. And the stress of stop-and-go use in traffic is more than hauling loads at steady speed on the highway. If the fuel system holds out, thanks to the cleaner running with common rail injection (meaning less chance of diesel and contaminants washing into your oil), the engine itself should be good for 300k kms.

Dirty oil? While it is indeed possible, a simple check of the dipstick will tell you whether your oil is clean or not.

And lastly, Chevrolet didn't release a 1.3 AT Spin because it would simply be too expensive. The 1.3 MT is already around 50k more than the automatic 1.5. A 1.3 AT would cost around 100k more. That would be a hard sell versus a diesel Innova.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Simple answer: carburated before, computerized high pressue direct injection today, and..

Natural aspiration before, VG/VN turbocharging now makes a world of difference in engine power production nowadays

2.5L diesel before = 1.3L diesel today. Just the way it is

I own three Innova po. It's enough na. The bunso has 10K pa lang. No bad vibes with them except the way the 3rd row folds.
The Fiesta is coming (di yong ecoboost ). Then I want something in between. A Spin or its aleternative sana mga Xmas time. Basta wag Avanza.
Saw the pics of the Suzuki Ertiga. Oks na sana na fold flat ang 3rd row. Pero not a fan of the rear aircon vents na parang yong old Rev-O namin.

    Which point exactly?

Do you have factual evidence to support this claim? If not, then I can simply consider it as plain hearsay.

I guess you'd better start exploring out of your so called comfort zone.

The power and torque differences as well as fuel efficiency of the engines mentioned differ by only around 10-30% but are of the same displacement as their yesteryears' carbureted and EFI counterparts with no VVT. We're talking about old school N/A and turbodiesels versus modern common rail turbodiesels here where the differences in power and torque are more than 70-100% given the same displacement.

In all markets of the Spin, GM has not released an AT version of the diesel Spin because there is none. The 1.3L diesel engine is a proven engine in Europe and India. A Fiat sourced diesel engine that is being used by Tata Motors and Suzuki in India for some of its vehicles. It is also used by Ford in some of their vehicles in Europe. Diesel fuel in India is somewhat as dirty as our diesel fuel but the engine is proven to be very reliable also. CRDi systems has brought wonders to diesel engines, the naturally aspirated, indirect injection diesel engines with 2.5L of displacement of the yesteryears have been outpowered and outtorqued by 1.3L to 1.7L diesel engines with CRDi and FGT turbos.

By the way, the 1.3L diesel engine was co-developed by Fiat and GM way back in February 2003.
