Sa Chevy Shaw kami nakareserve. Last week ng january pa kami ngaantay ng ltz diesel. Ung ls variant meron sila pero ung ltz both gas and diesel wala pa. Contacted several dealers and said wala pa talaga dumarating ltz. Maganda offer nila kaya waiting kami sa kanila.

I have checked the display of the barebones spin in Greenhills 2 days ago.
For me, it's a refreshing car. There's nothing like it here in our country. Even if it's MT, I'm sure it will be very easy to drive in metro traffic as it is small & narrow, and has that high ground clearance like the new ecosport.
The problem is this, this barebones unit is priced too high at P 798K. The top of the line version has mags, abs, dual-airbags, keyless entry & alarm, folding side mirrors, roofrack, fog lights, chrome grills, as well as BLuetooth in its stereo. With the difference of only P110K, it seems that the LTZ version is the way to go. but what happens if in case, you decide to get the top-of the line version, you're still stuck with a Manual transmission. Imagine all those amenities, and you're only driving Manual in this congested world that we live in. At 908k, you can get a loaded AT sedan or at least near the price range. In case for example, Chevy release an AT version of this diesel a year from now, I'm sure it will be priced at near or maybe 1M. With that price, even if it's AT, this still looks like in the Avanza category. so investing a million for this type of vehicle, parang wala ng man lang prestige/pride, at least the top-of-the line ecosport priced at 975k, has moonroof amenities.
And here's why I dropped this option, the salesperson was honest enough to admit that it can only go max at 100-120kph. The speedometers are digital, so there's no really no way for me to determine if it can go even higher (at least on paper) And here's the kicker, the brochure says it's only 75hp, makes sense bec. It's just 1.3L. The new accent sedan crdi is 126hp with a 1.6L engine, and it's 70k cheaper than this, and of course with a more stylish fluidic body, the body of this Chevy is one of those cars na it will grow on you hehe, not really that love at first scenario
At 75hp, I don't' know, maybe it's just a little faster than the 30-yr old L300FB. pass for me

The Spin might have similar ride height as the Ecosport but it does not have the same high ground clearance as the Ecosport.
i don't think 100-120 lang ang kaya nya. i think pag dating nya ng 120 kaya pa umangat ng konti yun
If it is around 1m already, it will make buyers think about the Carens as mentioned above or an Innova.
Exactly, the careens is a bigger MPV and a more powerful engine, and an AT at that.
The 798k price is ok if for example, the engine had at least 1.6L. But at 1.3L, then make it a family hauler (it has 7seater) and the condition of diesel here in our country, as well as worsening stop ang go traffic situation, I'm thinking that engine will be exhausted to its limits in 3-5 years time,
Better market it as a 5-seater na lang to be safe .. Of course, Chevy salespeople will claim it's diesel, it has high torque. That is true also because that has always been the case if you have brand new crdi. It'll always be jumpy when it's new ..

Actually, the engine itself is the selling point ng spin diesel. If you need a powerful engine, andyan ang mga higher displacement turdo diesel such as innova and carens. But in a heavy traffic situation, you wont need that much power. Kung tama nga ang nsa brochure na 75hp, thats just as strong as an adventure or a crosswind. And due to lower displacement ng engine, mas matipid sya kung ikkumpara sa higher displacment engine. Hay... Ang tagal kasi dumating ng ltz diesel para maconfirm ko kung ok lang ung power and torque figures nya. Lagpas one month na kami
nagaantay, puro ls lang ang dumarating.

I will be test driving the diesel Spin this Saturday at Chevrolet Makati. I will give my review here

Not exactly. The carens actually is quite a bit shorter in length albeit a slightly longer wheelbase, has almost the same elbow room and has less cargo space if all the seats are up compared with the same configuration as the spin. The carens will also have less total cargo space with all the seats folded flat down compared to the spin with the second row tumbled down and the third row removed. Legroom at the second row is almost the same. The advantages of the carens are car-like ride/refinement, car-like engine power/response and flat folding split seats on all rows.
As for the engine, it will shine amongst the rest of the diesel AUV's in stop and go fuel economy because it will only sip diesel like a 1.3L. In the highway, it will say goodbye to any diesel revo, crosswind or adventure (except for the Innova) because aside from the power to weight ratio, it's peak torque is higher than all the 3 diesel variants mentioned, thanks to its turbo. The crosswind's engine is just pfffft despite also having a turbo.
If comparing it to the Innova, the Innova E diesel will definitely give the diesel LTZ a run for its money.
at last .. after 6 months of waiting ..kanina lang we got our black LTZ diesel spin.. drove from greenhills to san mateo , san mateo to makati .. mas okay yung hatak nya compared to adventure/innova/avanza .. so far satisfied ako

The Carens is longer than the Spin and has a heck of a lot more room in the second row. There's a 130mm difference in the wheelbase.
The Spin's second row is decent, but it's smaller than the Carens' second row... the Avanza's second row and the APV's second row... the only advantage it has over its price-competitors is elbow room.
And the Spin's cargo floor area, with the third row up or down, is smaller than the Avanza's.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Got to test drive the diesel LS variant yesterday courtesy of Chevrolet Makati. The 75 ps and 190 Nm of torque is actually an understatement. The acceleration feels more powerful than the paper specsThe engine sound is as quiet as the 1.6L diesel engine of the Accent

I need a new car for 7 passengers. Innova is out of the list. Been there, done that.
Dapat automatic for an old guy like me who is tired of manual cars.
Carens is too expensive at 1.2M with Start/Stop button. Ang baba pa ng chin. Palagi kong nababangga sa parking.
Livina is too narrow and uninspiring. Abot ko ang opposite window withouth stretching too much.
Avanza is too narrow also and is taxi material.
Spin na lang ba ang natitirang MPV option sa Pinas? I like the interiors and 6 speed AT at low NVH daw. At di sya taxi![]()
