Hanggang ngayon wala pa akong nakikitang Spin
I owned the entry level avanza before.
I can say that it has a relatively bumpy ride (matagtag talaga).
If you've driven a chevrolet spark, the driving dynamics of an avanza is POOR(relative to the chev unit).
Nahihilo mga passengers if you do some "sporty" maneuvers with the Avanza.
AvanzaFOC in pure city drive is 11km/l
AvanzaBest FOC I had in pure hi-way is 16km/l
At 80km/hr, the Avanza unit I had begins to shake.....(I dare not go beyond that speed)
Reading the thread of Spin and feedback from owners, I think in my opinion the Spin is a far better choice.
To owners of Spin AT Gas variant,
Hello.
Pardon me if my question may sound silly, but have you ever tried
putting the Spin in manual mode while in the city then measure its fuel consumption?
From what I know August 2013 ang first release niya sa mga Chevy dealership dito sa pinas, imported ito from Indonesia which started production March 2013 lang.Originally Posted by jaymd

If may difference siguro konti lang kasi semi-auto sya, automatic downshift if bumagal.
I will try to measure it and post the result because the last time I used it nangalay ang kamay ko sa push button for up shift on stop & go traffic, iba pa rin ang manual stick shift![]()
Any ball park figures on the maintenance schedule of the diesel variant as well as costs? Also, any feedback on how Chevrolet dealership services are?
The Spin is wider and longer than an Avanza.
Unlike the Avanza, the Spin is car-based, it rides on GM's Gamma II platform which is also used by the Sonic.
If you want something more refined and car-like and don't mind that it has a bowtie badge instead of a stylized T badge, go for the Spin, but I don't really recommend the local spec base LS 1.3 diesel MT model since they deleted safety features like airbags and ABS.
PS: The Spin is actually closer in size to the Nissan Grand Livina.

Update:
End of last year naman puro Mitsubishi Montero... Start of 2013 last quarter naman puro Ford units... Ano kaya meron dun?
Medyo paexcite nga itong spon ltz na to.

Hi Folks,
Newbie in the forum, I am considering Spin as a family car.
Thanks in advance for the help.
