curious lang ako, if you got yours at 9km bakit kaya yung sakin di ko pa nakukuha sa casa 36km na...di kaya sya ginamit as test drive unit ng mga ng-iinquire?

im still in the process of finalizing a Cruze purchase. ive read several issues on this unit already in this thread. quick question for everybody and hope to get an honest answer?

"Will you still buy or recommend to a friend the Cruze knowing the problems on its aircon (foul smell), brakes (embarassing sound), etc?"

First of all, Chevy Cruze is indeed a very nice car. Of course if your gonna compare it to any sedans like the mazda3, civic, or focus, it will still stand-out and top the three. Not being bias of course. But thats what i felt since i bought it. Maybe once you own one, you'll feel the difference of owning it. Of course just follow your heart and instinct.

The brake sound is really intriguing.. Fortunately im glad that I never have it.. Maybe (Not sure hehe) its because I test drove it after I picked it up from Manila to Baguio..
Is it really that loud that you can still hear it even all your windows are close? Maybe the pads are still thick enough and needs to be driven fast along NLEX or SLEX (for MLA owners) to wear it just a bit.

You will never regret it!

is 36km on the odo acceptable for a new car? to the cruze owners here may i know the odo reading when you got your new cruze?

Got mine with 5km (odo reading) only if i remembered it correctly..

Did you ask your SA about it on how theyll deliver your Cruze from their factory garage in Cavite, Batangas or Laguna (cant remember where.. South bound ) to their branch?
Because if your Cruze didn't make it on the delivery sched made by your Chevy branch, the delivery truck might not be able to pick your car up for delivery. Instead your SA or they are the one (personally) who picked-up your cruze from their factory garage and drove it all the way to their branch for you..

But still 36km is not bad though.. Don't worry!

my wife is now having second thoughts on getting the cruze due to the issue on "foul smell." Is it really that annoying? i mean, when a jeepney is in front of your car, will i smell the smoke coming from it all the time?

sir, hindi naman po, based on my testdrive of the cruze, it doesn't smell naman po. and since i own a captiva, siguro naman po somehow similar yung ventilation system nila, sa chevrolet po kasi nung nagtanong ako niyan, pinakita po sakin na hindi talaga 100% closed kahit naka-on yung recirculate kaya may naamoy din po, but only in cases wherein madadaan ka dun sa mga mabahong bridges, and not all the time pa may pumapasok na amoy pero minsan lang po and a couple of seconds din mawawala na po yung amoy.

Yeah, at first have the same "problem" but when my aggressive driving kicks in bec the cruze is so fun to drive , i hardly notice the problematic sound. Maybe a "break-in" of the pads do help to smoothen and eliminate those annoying sound. HTH

btw, what's a good name for an all-cruze car club?

hmm maybe a CRUZE CAR CLUB (C3 or CCube) or Chevrolet Cruze Club of the Philippines (C3oP) hahaha any more suggestions? so we can start the club and enjoy being a cruze lover.

Magic black for me, coz the 3m is os sticky that if you want to replace your existing one can ruin or damage your heater on the rear window, happen to my civic when i replaced it with another brand. just sharing.

I already drive a Cruze & I would still encourage friends to buy one despite these problems. The ventilation issue is being discussed by Chevy engineers & will be addressed soon. Besides, hindi naman ganun ka-offensive, the smell is gone in a few seconds or so. I've been caught in Makati traffic a few times, behind buses & jeepneys. The occasional diesel fumes & estero smell is annoying at most, but tolerable naman. I haven't experienced the brake noise in my car, so I can't comment on that one.

Overall, the Cruze is fun to drive & these incidents should not detract from your pride of ownership.

Our very own Chevrolet Cruze emerged victorious in the Compact Sedan category having garnered a total of 2,927 votes! Wow! Truly, this is a strong testament that more and more people are proclaiming their love for the Cruze.

Welcome to you karenfeliz & congratulations on your choice of the Cruze. One thing I appreciate about the car is the solid feel of the suspension when I'm driving along NLEX & SCTEX. It's so smooth & comfortable, you hardly feel the speed.

Lynx0, don't be discouraged by what you've read about this. In reality, it's just an annoying occurrence & it doesn't happen all the time. I'm sure Chevy will solve this issue soon enough.
