October 20th, 2007 06:26 PM #663Very true.
The Chinese can manufacture, no doubt. Parang ngang mga robot mga yan pag gumagawa. Bawal usap2x. Kausapin mo dedma ka(not that hindi nakakaintindi ng English).
Pero cut-throat biz strategies nila. Nagulo ang economy ng buong mundo.
Wag nila daanin sa price. Make(not copy) a capable car and the buyer would know if its a good buy.
Its easy to think na Hyundai/Kia eh doing the same price strategy. Hindi. Ang strat ng mga Korean, wide market(actually some Japs din). Me pang lo-end, me pang high din naman. Me cheap like Pica n Getz, pero Accent is not cheap for a sedan.Tucson is cheap for a SUV, pero me SF naman din sila, and even a VC.
Sa Chery kasi lahat ng segment cheap ang sa kanila so bad competition.Last edited by hominid; October 20th, 2007 at 06:58 PM.

I hope their car will sell.
But the Tiggo SUV kinda looks like the 2nd Gen Rav4 and the QQ Compact Car looks like the Daewoo Matiz.

Just say whatever you want. Just don't make things personal.
Like I said, I like these Russians a lot because they treat me like a brother kahit im not Russian (which is a big deal if you're familiar with Russian customs).
My boss didn't call him, it was a random offering in the building. Do you actually expect a boss who drives a BMW M6 to buy a Chery??? sa mga tauhan nga 2007 Land Cruiser at 2007 Tahoe ang binibigay e.
BTW, hindi po sa Pilipinas ito ha. Sa abroad po where standards are way higher.
So I told him about the Chery brochures and he instantly told me to throw it away. Talk about me being proactive. Told him i already did. I told him that we can give these cars to the employees we least like... hehehhee.
I know those you mentioned are made in China but they are not Chinese companies. Of course, those companies follow global standards so it's alright even if their products are made in China. I do avoid made in China products as much as possible though. I prefer those made in Europe esp Germany.

Xavier, no offense to you ha, discussion lang. Don't worry, i'm sure bebenta yang products nyo. There are a lot of people that can't afford better brands and doesn't know much about cars and would buy something as long as its new.
Ako lima lang naman ang tinitingnan ko pag bibili ng kotse:
1. EuroNCAP crash test and IIHS crash test.
2. Design and Safety.
3. Type of Engine (I prefer turbo common rail diesels, soon DiesOtto engines)
4. Brand history and range of business.
5. Product support (If i can buy parts for it locally).
Siguro in a few years, Chery would improve.

Nagbaba pala ng presyo ang Chery since its launch(mga 20 to 40K ang price decrese which is good move for them)...
Malapit nang magdisplay at magbenta ng Chery cars ang Chery Otis/Manila starting next week daw at guess what may mga interested buyers o nagpareserve na nang Tiggo(699K nalang pala to!!YES!!!) at QQ3(maraming may gusto ng A/T na manual!!)

[QUOTE][my opinion on this is...lets just be open minded. who knows, maybe this company in ten years will be the likes of hyundai or kia.
/QUOTE]
Yes. Maybe in ten years. But not right now. I'm open minded. I see cars as they are. And right now Chery cars are still below my [already relatively low] standards. The QQ seems half-finished if you've ever seen one up close.
in this thread, there are too many bashing on this company due to made in china, copy cat designs, poor quality, not safe, etc.
Chery has a long way to go. I'm not saying it will fail. But with its current strategy of copying from other manufacturers, it's not going to gain my trust anyone soon. Couldn't they just actually license products like what the Koreans did?
I'm still keeping my hopes up for them.

Still a good buy if comfort and timeless looks matter to you. The monocoque chassis rides smoother...
2017 Pajero BK, still a good buy?
