hog raising parang alkansya lang yan, low profit high input. high risk din, tamaan ka foot and mouth disease para mo na sinunog pera mo. unless gaya ng robina farms ang farm mo na completely sealed ang piggery i advice againts it.

husbandry yan mataas ang profit. medyo mahaba lang gestation kasi kailangan mag-mature yung sows before pwede mag-breed. binibilang dyan yung nipples ng sow, hindi same ang number ng nipples ng mga baboy. mas maraming nipples mas maraming piglets na pwede maging anak. mataas profits dyan, pero kalaban mo pa din foot and mouth disease. pag may infestation mababa din ang demand, baka mga nagle-lechon na lang kukuha sa iyo.

ang malaking kalaban mo in both hog raising or husbandry/pig breeding e GOBYERNO. relate ko, erpats ko dati nag-breed ng piglets. lakas ng profits kaso pinasukan ng price control ni secretary concepcion (tangna niya!) nung cory admin pa. ginawa ni concepcion nilagyan ng price control ang pork tapos dinoble ang price ng feeds so bigla baba ng demand for piglets. biro mo nagbaliktad ang presyo. dati (1990-91 nuon) the price of 1 piglet averaged P800, price of 1 sack of breeding mash was P375. nung nag-price control naging P350 nalang buying price ng piglets tapos yung feeds naging P600-700. ubos naipon na pera ni erpats trying to ride it out. in the end he burned his piggery in dusgust. kaya dapat talaga ang ilalagay sa gobyerno yung walang vested interest. pinatay ni concepcion ang small hog raisers and breeders through his price control in favor of his own large scale piggery farm.

Speaking of piggery, just a tip from one of my townmates in the Visayas. His pig farm is going well, as long as he contributes to the "revolutionary" cause, if you get my drift. I hope you won't have to face that additional problem.

bro, i-google mo TLRC gov. I've visited the site lat time kasi I want to start this business as well. Meyron sila VCD's for sale. complete step by step instructions/ways how to run the business. Maraming listahan ng Livelihood programs dun. Mga 500petot yata per set of VCD's. You can also visit their office to check yung schedule ng seminars.
My friend's brother also running this business sa Probinsiya. Ang system is meyron siyang provider ng piglets, feeds, gamot, etc. Libre lahat, basta sila lang ang nagpapalaki. After a few months, kukuhanin na yung pigs and papalitan na naman ng piglets. Okay yata to dahil maliit lang ang risks. Pag nagka FMD man, di siya ang mawawalan but the provider. I still need to know how the profit is..

bongliza = yung system adapt nila is like your the animal hotel, bibigay company yun mga baboy o manok pati gamot kayo lang magpapalaki kung baboy, o magpapaitlog kung manok, pero me mga quota na dapat meet pag ganun, minsan pag ala ka sa quota meron fine

to all : kung sino pa me alam na tecniques sa pagaalaga ng baboy tulong naman=) ok lang ba magbigay ng gamot pang tao sa baboy? i notice kasi andami antibiotics bigay sa baboy is that really necessary?

j3d = sa tarlac piggery namin, hopefully ok na siya by next year, sa december buntis palang sows and gilts, la pa ako 1 month sa farm, pinag aaralam ko pa system and pano maging ok baboy kaya gusto ko attend seminars para matuto

im also fishing tips fro the veterans, tapos aplly ko sa farm namin konti konti, liike giving multivitamins for human, i tried giving them sa piglets ok naman

If anyone is planning to venture on pig farming, make sure that you recycle the waste by going into complementary farming practices. You can even put up a simple biogas digester to lessen the stink and to produce methane for cooking or power generation. And if you cannot be there all the time, mag isip-isip kayo at medyo mahirap ipagkatiwala sa ibang tao.

A lot of people can't stand the effort and the stench of working a piggery. What they don't realize is that it has already produced a lot of millionaire entrepreneurs. Kaya next time na makaamoy kayo ng baboy, it's the smell of success!

My wife, having worked in an ad agency before, had Purina Feeds as one of her clients. Lagi siyang kasama sa mga provincial caravans and seminars. She also worked on Purina's weekly show on Channel 13. As a result, marami na siyang alam tungkol sa hog raising. Marami na rin siyang na-interview na mga hog raisers, and she can attest to the fact na marami ang umasenso sa negosyong ito.

piggery ba kamo...sorry now ko lang nakita post ninyo...animal nutritionist ako by profession...I'm into trading right now ng specialty rawmat to produce animal feeds and pig feed including.
