Although not true in almost all of the establishments here in the Philippines : "Cash Is King"
Because sometimes it's more dangerous to bring cash, for example you need to buy something in a store worth 100k. It would be a hassle to go to the bank to withdraw or have the store personnel count that amount of cash. Some stores treat straight payment as cash naman.

So lucky are those who can religiously follow that....a lot of people have said that again and again

Here, cash payment has all the advantages during negotiation/haggling and that's very important in buying. Kahit naka pangtulog ka when they hear CASH they will certainly make a second look - then it's your turn to make sipol sipol.

    1. if you didn't have a CC, you might think several times before buying that 100K item... you might even decide not to buy it! savings made!
it is precisely the trouble of buying in cash, i.e., the lack of cash in hand, that makes you defer the transaction. savings made!
    2. do not consciencize yourself when you force the store guy into counting large amounts of cash. he revels in it!

truly.. try living for some time without CC.. you will be surprised that you can actually live comfortably enough, without certain items..

I agree with you. My wife had only 1 credit card and we just use it for airline tickets purchase. Everything were purchased in cash. I didn't have a credit card of my own, and i never had any regtets not having one.

Actually, merchants are surprised when i told them that i don't have one. One good example is when buying appliances, when i go to Anson's, they knew that i am paying in cash since i am a regular customer, i can haggle. My last purchase was an airconditioning unit, i paid 11k instead of 14k for a small unit.

I don't order any drinks whenever I dine-in. purified water is already good enough for me. kung minsan hingi na din ng ilang piraso ng kalamansi, may free kalamansi juice na.
sa Chinese resto who serve house tea. hingi din ng ice cubes, empty glass at honey for sweetening. voila free ice tea na. LOL

    me, too.
i wonder how many CC users know, that paying in cash sometimes gives them leeway for discounts.. ansons is one such place..
i always ask, "magkano discount pag cash?"
of course, one has to know the prices of the competition's.. one more thing i do, before buying.. i compare prices of various stores.

Hide your cash in plain sight. Example:

    Accessories - Hide-A-Way Can Safes - Up-N-Smoke
