    I met with the GM of Dali last month. European guy who’s trying to bring the Aldi discounter model here in PH.

    Very limited assortment, but low pricing because of lean supply chain and also because they’re sacrificing margin to gain market share.

    Then they’re bringing in house brands to keep their price low, like their Nutella ripoff that’s 100 pesos only vs the real Nutella for 300 pesos.

    Then here’s their house brand that looks like a mockery of Datu Puti:

    well,
    it does very roughly translate to "datu puti".
    rajah = datu,
    puro = puti.

    Big time ka talaga jut703! I am curious, how'd they suddenly have so many branches? It's like Dali branches popped up like mushrooms. Also, is it true na most branches are in the South, why kaya?

    Anyway, so that's why they have Aldi products, they even have the same area/design where you can bag your groceries because the cashiers are too fast. You can never win against an Aldi (or Dali?) cashier LOL

    I love Aldi's, it's really low price high quality for me (don't know how they do it). In the meantime, I'm happy with Dali. I hope they bring in more imported products. I don't wanna buy the imitation brands though I am curious how the Gardenia imitation tastes like
