Sorry doc, I should have clarified my earlier post. I purchased the car charger because I did not want to hard wire the dash cam to the battery and risk voiding the warranty.

One of my sj4000's battery has bloated. The other one is still ok. I never remove my sj4000 kahit bilad sa araw. It still works when i turn on the engine. Pero hindi ko.na matanggal yung battery and i also can't turn it on by pressing the power button.

bought a hardwire kit for my dashcam and it looks amazing now. its a 12v to 5v dc. my dash is now free of wires. ako lang nag install nakakatuwa, tinap ko lang sya sa ac and ground nun headunit.

Yup. Sila nagroute ng charger cable from headliner to A-pillar to ignition. Ako lang nagkabit nung bike mount dun sa rear-view mirror:

Same experience with my SJ4000 before. What I did was unclip and unscrew the front cover so I can remove the bloated battery. For a time I used the dashcam without a battery but it doesn't save date and time, so eventually I bought 2 new batteries - 1 for everyday dash cam use (which I expect will bloat and lose capacity) and another for the times that I use it as an action cam.

Mukhang battery yung weak spot ng SJ series. Bought two spares two months before a planned out of town trip. Weekend prior the trip, checked the batteries and one was already bloated. They were kept in a drybox with my camera gear for those two months.

might be the windshield tint or the angle of the windshield so that mas naarawan yung dashcam. yung nasa crv kasi (with the steeper windshield and newer 3m medium tint) hindi nagbloat yung battery kahit mas madalas siya gamitin (daily drive) at siya ang ginagamit for long drives once a month (around 3 hours midday sun).

yung nakakabit sa civic (light solargard tint and less inclined na windshield) ang nagbloat. considering na bihira siya magamit at madalas sa parking lang (covered).

anyway, thanks for the advice *jut703. tinatry ko kasi hatakin yung battery palabas hindi ko magawa. napunit na nga yung parang paper na panghatak sa battery. i'll just have to remove the front face tapos order ng extra battery.

dunno the brand pero its the one used in mini 0805 according to the description. wala din po instructions pero meron label. usually acc at ground lang naman. yunh headunit ko din kasi may label kaya connect ko lang sila then electrical tape. sa lazada ko po sya nabili.

Guys, pano nyo ginawang dashcam ang action cam like sj or xiaomi? May dedicated dashcam mode ba ang ganun? Yung tipong start engine, on na rin sya. Off engine off na rin sya? Yung di ko na sya gagalawin just like a real dashcam? Thanks..

Planning to buy dp220. Sana mas reliable and okay sya. My sj4000 kinda hangs na and eventually stop recording. Its beginning to be unreliable na kasi i have to restart again the camera. Hay... naexperience rin ba ng mga sj4000 users dito yun? Tingin ko kasi may defective part na sya kasi both old and new ui firmware naghahang sya.
