sa mga holiday shoppers jan. mukhang mas maraming na kayong mapipilian na pang dashcam that double also as an action cam.

I had to compromise by doing this para lang gumana yung GPS.

After 1 year of use, my SJ4000's battery gave up on me:

The camera itself still works. Will connect it directly to AC power to still serve its function as a dashcam. Will also buy a new battery in case I wanna use it as an action cam, but won't put it in the camera anymore when I use it as a dashcam.

I think it's really inevitable that the battery will bloat when exposed to direct sunlight in a hot cabin all day. Since the battery has bloated, I had to remove the front housing of the SJ4000 as well as the screws of the circuit board to be able to pry out the battery.

On another note, does anyone have an idea how I can attach a dashcam onto my Mazda? This is how the rearview mirror and housing of the auto-light and rain sensor looks like:

There are 2 main problems in that layout:

    1. The stalk of the rearview mirror is too short. I can't do what I did with my Toyota wherein I used a bike mount to latch it on the stalk, like this:

    2. The housing for the rain/light sensor is big enough to hold my suction cup, but it's a rough surface, so the suction cup cannot grip onto it. I've also tried using double sided tape as well as packaging tape, but both don't stick either.

Since I don't wanna damage my tint by using a suction cup directly on the windshield, I'm still unable to mount a dashcam on my Mazda. I'd be grateful to hear any ideas. [emoji4]

^What kind of double sided tape did you use? You can try using 3M VHB double sided tape like this:

I've used this on the matte plastic of the City's console. Just make sure you clean the surface with alcohol before applying the tape.

Used 3M automotive tape (looks like that too), doesn't stick at all.

gumagana naman as dashcam even without battery no? pero yung settings ba nareretain kapag walang battery? i mean, yung date/time, exposure, plate number, etc?

Now 13th month is just around the corner, I can confidently commit na to buy a replacement cam.

But I'm still torn between G1W and SJCAM 4000.

Rough surface. 3M adhesive doesn't stick at all. [emoji20]

yep also tried it before. pag naarawan na, mahuhulog. suggestion sa akin is to sand the back of the rear view mirror kung saan ididikit yung mount.kaya lang ayoko hehe

Both have the same video quality since both have the same exact hardware. The advantage of the sjcam is, it doubles as a action cam.
