Problem now is I cannot update two of them, as both cannot be recognized by the computer (through the USB port)- tried at least 10 USB cables already on various computers and USB ports.

Worse, both do not recognize the supplemental map in the SD card port.... Oh well,- the old maps generally work okay, still....
Sir CVT try turning on the Garmin GPS before connecting it to the computer via USB cable. I discovered this out of frustration as I could not figure out why my PC can't detect my Garmin GPS before. Normally, most usb devices are and should be detected by the computer whether it is turned on or off.

I always use my Garmin GPS. Helped me a number of times when I got lost on the side streets here in Metro Manila. I also use Waze, pero usually before driving just to check for traffic.

I have Waze, Google Maps, and Navigator in my phone pero I prefer my car's built-in GPS (AVT).. Hassle kasi dati nung phone pa gamit ko na pag naliligaw ako I had to pull out my phone, turn on the gps, turn on the app, key in my destination, plug sa charger, ikabit sa car mount and wait for the phone mag-lock sa satellites before I can go. Tapos biglang tatawag or magtetext.

Whereas sa built-in, I only need to press a few keys and pwede na sumibad in a few seconds since mabilis mag-lock sa satellite.
Only disadvantage is kailangan pa maghintay ng updates from AVT.

I got no problem using waze with my ipad mini r with globe plan, compare sa smartphone ang bilis ma drain battery, sa ipad mini ang tagal. Kahit 4 hours ako nasa kalsada without charging go pa rin si ipad mini ko. Pero of course i also want to try yung built in baka nga less hassle. Problem ko lang is HU ko has this gps card slot, but i dont have the card when i bought this car. Sabi nila gagastos ako ng mga 6k just to have this micro sd card para mapagana ko yung gps sa HU ko. Nagdadalawang isip pa rin ko, effective naman sa akin si waze pa.

I also use my phone, I usually use Google Maps as its less data intensive compared to waze
But my issue is that I loose GPS signal in even in the smallest overpass and it takes an eternity to get a lock again. It becomes kinda useless in Edsa because it always looses signal when Im under the MRT or an underpass.

What inexpensive standalone GPS do you recommend? I have looked around and the cheapest ones I can find (Garmin) are around 7k and that costs as much as a basic android phone with GPS already.

Another question. Who has tried a GPS re-radiating antenna? I found one in sulit for P2300 and it apparently improves the signal inside the car
