DLR are beneficial when overtaking and in the fast lane, thats why i scratch my head when cars have them on in villages..

DRL's have no significant effect on gas consumption.

You can't blame them cause, if OEM fitted, you can't turn it off. DRL Bulb is integrated with High beam(usually H15 type.) Sure you can cut the wires that supplies voltage to DRL but some new cars that run CANBUS system, it will throw CEL as the BCM will report an open in electrical system, in some cases it will shutdown the car/engine and other cases, it will shutoff all lights - you need to fix the open in circuit/line and reset BCM. You can do some mods to delete DRL but new car owners will risk voiding their warranty.

On vehicles with DRLs standard, they usually activate when you release the handbrake.

I am not in favor of DRL. Nakakasilaw.

    It's designed not to be.

In provincial highways I used turn on my park lights kahit umaga.

Mag DRL pa. Eh kahit mag-on nalang pala ng park light sa umaga at araw para lang mapuna ka. Pwede naman pala park light lang isindi.

Sabi nga cars with OEM DRLs are designed na mag on once you start the engine.

    Ano gusto mo gawin nila?

Im not against sir, i just notice it doesnt have any purpose other than its easier to be seen when going on a certain speed, i turn on mine when in the outermost lane, one time was driving my fxt, i overtook a fortuner going 140kph , lo and behold from my rearview mirrror, i saw a DRL from a porsche cayenne, i let him pass.....

Di ako kumokontra. If the model you bought has one, nice.. Pero kung bibili pa para lang magkaroon, naaah... Sa iba na lang gastusin

DRLs were created for a specific reason. Hindi naman yan ilalagay na lang basta kung hindi pinagisipan. Like the rest, I am pro DRL as long as it's something that was built in by the manufacturer. Or maybe go to a shop who truly understand the engineering behind the tech. Meron kasi iba kung ano ano pa nakalagay like may angel eyes na, may mga LED na strip lights pa. Mukha nang disco nung 80s at hindi na for safety reasons.
