Planning on getting an HID retrofit

Dinemo niya yung actual lens itself. Nilinisan muna niya from the boxes yung 2 sample lenses then pinahawak saakin yung lenses then sabi niya tumingin ako sa malayo thru the lenses, yung Class B na sinasabi niya totoo ngang malabo yung view as compared doon sa isa pang dinemo saakin na Class A. (Think of it as the glass na nabibili sa department store vs yung glasses na ginagamit sa carinderia for the service water.)

Nakakainis lang kasi nakalimutan ko na kung anong shop yung nagdemo saakin.

Ah ganun po ba. Sa projector lens kasi meron tinatawag na fresnel at clear lenses and sa pagkaka alam ko meron fresnel lens ang kioto q5. Mas intense output and sharp cut-off ang clear lens if compare sa fresnel. And if pinagtabi mo ang dalawang lens na yan malabo tignan ang fresnel.

It all depends sa budget, right? Siguro nga if you can spend up to 30K for a retrofit, then go. And you really should expect the best of the best when it comes to output and cutoff.

So far ako, satisfied naman ako sa sharpness ng cutoff ni xenon concepts. If I wanted something more then I should be willing to spend more which I am not haha as long as properly installed, aligned and output and cut off is good. Im okay with it.

And between the koito q5 projectors, ibat ibang china companies produces these q5 projectors. NHK is just one company who makes them. Ang hindi ko alam if NHK makes class A or class B na q5 projectors. Hehe

If you back read a bit someone who tried Xenon Concepts mentioned that they used NHK ballasts and bulbs, while someone else posted that they got some lesser known ballasts and bulbs which were available at Lazada. Just guessing, but Xenon Concepts may be sourcing different brands of bulbs and ballasts. The bulb and ballast differences may be the reason why some have seen lower output from Xenon Concepts. If you look at the measurements posted some pages back, there is a big difference int he output among the bulb brands.

We are not sure kung bakit na kung same NHK Q5 projectors, same NHK ballast, and same NHK bulbs, bakit magkaiba output. Kasi sa akin, ung sa dalawang car na na-install ng stage 2 ni xenon concepts, napansin ko na ung sa isang car ko, iba ung ballast and igniter nya. Could be na latest edition ni NHK yun kaya magkaiba. Napansin ko lang na mas mabilis ung warm up time nung latest edition na ballast nya. Projector wise, its the same daw and same bulbs.

Siguro ang kailangan natin gawin is get the NHK projector-ballast-bulb from one retrofitter and pit it against the other retrofitter's NHK projector-ballast-bulb. Para malaman natin why the other warrants a higher pricepoint than the other. Hehe

When I brought up the Class A and Class B lenses ng Koito Q5, let's say NHK is making Class A Koito Q5. Then may other sub-con na gumagawa din ng copy ni NHK Koito Q5 which made it Class B pero labelled as NHK Koito Q5 parin. I think yun yung point ng pinuntahan kong retrofitter noon.

Kung maalala ko yung retrofitter na yun, i'll visit him then post here some details. Hopefully maalala ko.. ang dami ko din kasi napuntahang retrofitters noon for quality checking ng trabaho.

that's good if the installer is also updating their product. i thought that same NHK Q5 projectors with the same everything else gives different output. I am of course assuming that NHK also does some QA on its products as opposed to the generic projectors on aliexpress

Probably ganun nga. We are not sure if lahat ng retrofitters dito get the NHK brand (projectors, ballast and bulb) from one china supplier only. Malamang marami sila. So possibly, iba iba nga ang output nila. Hehe

I think natanong ko dati kay xenon concepts kung ung q5 projectors nya is the latest one (which is based sa morimoto d2s 4.0), sabi naman nya yes it is.

May tinanong ako dati installer and ask him magkano singil nya sa retrofit nya including philips xv and sabi ko if may fxr siya. Sabi sa akin luma na daw ang fxr and q5 na ang in ngayun and natawa na lang ako hahaha. Fxr projectors is a legend na sa mga oem spec projectors I mean q5 is not bad provided above average ang ballast and bulb mo but to tell me na as if wala na sa scene ang fxr is funny
My point is alamin natin if knowledgeable ba talaga ang installer natin or even tayo din dapat mag research din. It pays to know kung anong kinakabit sa sasakyan natin kaya ok din na dinidiscuss yung mga projectors dito like if may class A or B ba ang q5.

Update lang, lens etching will be available na sa firedrake soon. Curious ako sa finish product nila if pulido ba and sa output.

No problem naman on the width, just the concentration of the lighting on the road, malakas yung sa malapit compared dun sa malayo. Not a big deal really, maganda pa rin naman lighting niya in real-world use.

Setup for the HID: Q5 projectors, NHK bulbs and ballasts. Bagong palit yung NHK bulbs, bagong linis yung projector housing.

I think hylux is better(waterproof and vibration resistant). I think hidretrofit.net is also using it.

Ok naman ang hylux and NHK. I don't think na sisirain ni angelo ang name ng shop nya by offering unreliable items. Pero syempre iba talaga ang performance and lifespan ng oem spec na bulb and ballast. But even the oem spec ay may mga lemons din pero mas less if compare mo sa mga aftermarket. Also may warranty ka so ok lang.

Another thing to consider is if may naka abang na taguan ng ballast yung car, if OEM gagamitin kasi hindi ito water proof. Yung hylux daw water proof na siya.

Yes, yan ang downside ng oem ballasts. Since specifically designed sila for a certain headlight which only accepts specific ballast mount to seat properly for it to be watertight. Unlike sa mga aftermarket which you can mount anywhere dahil most(if not all) of aftermarket ballasts ay potted ang internal circuits nila.
