Age of the car is a factor. Many insurance companies set a limit on the age of the vehicle as a factor in the acceptability of the risk. Residence of the insured is also a factor, but not as much as the age of the car.

As long as you are using your car, it is best that you get a comprehensive insurance. You never know what can happen on the road. For such a small fraction of the cost, you get peace of mind. Do not scrimp on the cost. And do not mind too if you didnt meet any accident while you are insured. Just think that you are helping other unit owners. Insurance works like a cooperative in a sense.

for vehicles more than 8 years old sir subject for approval sila kasi may factors na you have to consider like yung availability ng original parts ng car lalo na for old models, baka mahirap na maghanap. That's why for older vehicles po may additional requirements lang (such as pictures) para makapag avail ng insurance with AOG pero yun nga po pwede pa din.

Well each company and their underwriting department have their own reasons on why or why not to accept certain risks. Maybe they have had poor claim history on a particular type of risk. Before when I was just starting (years years ago actually about 2 decades ago hehe) kailangan ko pang ipaaaprove certain risk sa insurance company na hawak ko. It took too much time and effort tapos may utang na loob ka pa sa manager. Thats why i decided to get other companies to represent, since we are allowed naman to carry several companies. So now pag ayaw ng isa, then ibibigay ko sa iba. That is why a licensed agent should have a choice of several insurance companies for their clients to choose from so as to serve them better. Most of my clients trust me naman and they dont mind which company i put their risk. Sa totoo lang kasi, most comapnies naman are just the same. Its only a matter of the servicing agents catering to their needs, especially when there is a claim. To explain to them what needs to be done. What are covered and what are not. Kung mapapansin niyo nga, most of those who are complaining about the difficulty in claims are those without servicing agents. Kinuha na lang basta basta sa casa, sa bangko, o kung saan saan.

Is it a good gauge to use the insured amount of your vehicle as a basis for the selling price of your vehicle?
