Guys is it really worth it to have the premium diesels like vpower or turbo diesel compared to dieselmax and shell fuelsave. Some say the regular diesel are somewhat less cleaner than the premium ones and it may be the cause for some modern diesel engines to break down.

    No.

It's the same base diesel, just with better additives for the premium diesel.

Ive been told kasi by a ford specialist na na trace daw talaga nila ang rootcause kung madami nasisirang ranger is maduming fuel daw. Specifically shell fuelsave. Di nga ako maka paniwala agad eh. Baka dahil euro2 pa nuon or anything. Im not really sure. Kaka fill lang namin nga fuelsave din

    Ford Tough or Ford Bluff?

I'm speculating that Ford is putting blame on the fuel quality as a scapegoat... taking the easy way out. If what they say is true, it should not only affect Rangers. No, I think there's a design flaw they're not privy to talk about similar to the fuel delivery issues of early Toyota D4Ds.

    BS from your Ford "specialist".

In case you didn't know, all petroleum brands share fuel. Shell gets from Petron and Total on top of their own supply from Batangas in order to serve their Manila stations.

If you've seen how stringent Shell's product quality testing is from the depot, you'd know that they meet gov't mandated specs to the letter.

The usual cause for dirty fuel is a poorly maintained station - the tanks could have sediment build-up, or even water intrusion. But for most stations in Manila that are company owned, operational standards are at a very high level so contamination is unlikely.

agree with sir jut. i work in shell although in upstream projects and quality along with safety are paramount. there is no best, just fill up at well maintained gas stations.

petron may halo pero matagal maubos. shell pino pero mabilis maubos.

been using Petron for 7 years for my 11 year old Santa Fe, tama nga sila madumi ang petron, looks kelangan ng linis ng injectors ko. medyo minsan palyado yun makina ko. i have been warned 3 years ago not to use the Petron on my maselan ng Hyundai CRDi. ngaun gagastos na naman ako pero bebenta ko naman SF ko eh hehe

this is true. madume talaga diesel dito sa'tin. kung minsan even if you gas sa suki mo nasa sosyal na area, I gas up in White Plains Petron or San Miguel Petron, wala din eh. Yun Santa Fe ko ang ingay-ingay na ngaun parang crosswind, considering ang tahimik nito dati. now with my ranger, 3 months ago, tahimik yun makina nun eh ngaun paingay na din.

madumi talaga diesel diba nga hinuhuli ngaun sila kasi instead na ethanol meron sila nilalagay na chemical na nol din sa huli can't remember. so if those rangers are bogging down, I believe diesel is the culprit lalo na kung provincial based ka. I have a friend who works in Petron.

Ang modus daw ng mga Petron Franchisees is to get the Petron name pero bumibile sila sa mga naglalako ng mga unmarked tanker na adulterated diesel. Meron daw barko na nagbabagsak dito from other Countries, usually China na maduming diesel at mas mura eto, that's why tempted ang mga Fuel station operators to buy from this bogus trucks.
yun recent investigation nila, halos 70% ng fuel stations sa probinsya compromised. eh ano naman daw gagawin ng Petron. if they force closure, eh sarado 70% ng Petron stations so they just penalize na lang daw. btw, it's not only petron ha, even shell from the provinces buy from these trucks. so pag nakakita kayo ng truck na unmarked pero laman fuel, yun na yun.

we live in interesting times indeed.

where's d best diesel? caltex - petron - shell ???
