Mazda’s SkyActiv gas engines have higher compression ratio, around 13-14:10.

To be sure, check the owners manual for your Forester NA. Subaru might be recommending 95RON for local Foresters.

Which makes it funny how Petron and Shell markets their 97+ RON fuels as something that'll make your car go blazingly fast and fit for racing.

The converse is also true. If you have a fast car and dont use these fuel types, you will lose power.

Comparing my use of Shell V-Power Nitro+ 95RON, Petron XCS 95RON, and SeaOil Xtreme97 97RON, I get a bit better fuel efficiency with Xtreme97 over the other two brands with my use for both the Fiesta Ecoboost and Forester XT. However, no difference in performance for all three brands in both city and highway driving.

My observation other than being cheap comapred to other brand...
My fiesta had knocking engine issue with gas coming from big three but was resolved when i switch to Seaoil97 plus better engine response.
Monty 2nd gen DIESEL - same, feels more responsive, less black smoke. Once when i checked my Fuel filter at 7T km reading, malinis pa filter.
