I'd be happy to get those figures from my Santa Fe. Last full tank netted me 4.74km/L and small displacement CRDI's were supposed to be thrifty.

What kind of tune up? All fluids and filters have been changed. I've even installed Unichip. While performance has greatly improved, there seems to be no significant improvement in fuel consumption. I wonder if it is in need of calibration? But then performance is good and there's no black smoke at all...

    Looks great

To me, an average of 16 kph along that route means you drive to work early. Tama ba?

    7am-4pm shift
During summer (no class) my avg comsuption is lower.
Kalayaan to c5 is always the bottleneck of traffic.

Just filled up the Santa Fe VGT's tank. 313.5kms / 66.1L. 4.74km/L. No MID so no average speed. But this is mostly rush hour traffic from Morato area to U belt area daily.

Daily route is Malate-Makati-Malate. Sometimes may ibang route din ex.:EDSA, C5, Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue.

The route mentioned is around 16kms roundtrip daily, during rush hour.

This is why I'm looking for anything wrong with the SF's engine. Everything runs perfectly fine kasi, yun nga lang medyo matakaw. This when our other SF, an R eVGT 4x4 easily does 7km/L thereabouts in city driving!

Napa-check mo ba kay Speedlab boss kung ok yung AFR ng SF mo? Kahit EFI na alam ko may tolerance parin yung ganyan. Baka kaya nila ma-correct.

Naka Unichip na siya and has been through one retune. They should have fiddled with everything already, especially since it used to have abnormally low power output of just 95whp (fuel consumption still the same) which was corrected and improved to typical chipped output of this model at 145whp. I plan on bringing it over to Central Diesel when I have time. Hopefully they can do something, and it won't be too expensive...

Nung lumipat ako ng Cavite this year, the best that I can get is barely 14 km/L.

Traffic in my new route played a big factor.

May I clarify: what's your FC calculation/derivation method?
I'm now at another 300kms with 20kph average and at 10km/L. But this is again due to skyway runs this weekend. Man this Manila traffic sucks!

    My method is:
    1) get a full tank
    2) run til I get to half or 1/4 the tank
    3) log the trip meter
    4) full tank again
    5) divide kilometers travelled by liters filled

Seems to me like it's getting better...

I'm not sure if the comparison's apple to apple, but if juxtaposed with my 1.6-liter Altis, your 1.6-liter Fiesta still has a lot of room for improvement...

Was your skyway run just once? If yes, I think you're on the right track or your car, I mean. Hehe.

How would you identify if it is light traffic? moderate traffic or heavy traffic? How many kph? I'm mostly at city driving 80 to 90% of the time.

Manila to San Juan to Ortigas, Pasig and vice-versa ang daily route ko.

extra urban, stop and go traffic(car is stationary most of the time.)
    urban: village speeds
    highway: 60-80kph
highway plus: when turbo spools, around 2400rpm and at 100kph++

Well mine should be more fuel efficient since it has a lighter body. I just know something is wrong with this car's consumption because it's almost as worse as the Camry 2.4...
    Thanks for the info tho!

The only reference I could provide you is that my average speed of 15 kph since June 1 (this year) gets me from Cainta to QC and vice versa.

My travel time is within the range of 1 hour and 20 mins to 1 hour and 50 mins (depends on daily traffic situations). Total distance per round trip is around 42 to 45 kilometers.

Since June 1, my average fuel consumption is 9.29 km/l

This has been discussed in the past, by the way. One of the forum moderators, jut, has his personal tiers. You may check them below

Ano po ba talaga ang ibig sabihin pag sinabi nating "city/mixed/highway driving"?

City driving - anything inside Metro Manila or any big city in the country

I further dissect it to heavy, moderate, and light:

Heavy - below 15 kph average speed, typically EDSA rush hour traffic

Moderate - 16-19 kph average speed, typically EDSA plus lighter QC traffic

Light - 20-30 kph average speed, typically Sunday driving

Highway driving is expressway driving, plus national highway if it's free flowing (like 10pm onwards)

Mixed driving is a mix of city and highway driving, as the name implies.
