yessir! take note po, that's the "average" speed. that's what the on board computer displayed. it's computed as distance travelled in km over time, in my case, 47/3 = approx. 16kph (rounded off). hindi naman 16kph yung buong byahe ko, max ko was about 100kph pero most of the time stuck in traffic.

Tandang Sora -> Fairview -> Marikina -> Sta Mesa -> Tandang Sora

    (9am - 7pm)

    1998 Adventure 2.5 dsl manual: 9.5km/l
    2004 Escape 2.0 gas automatic: 6.5km/l
    2006 Picanto 1.1L gas manual: 12.5km/l
2009 Jazz 1.5 gas automatic: 10km/l (11km/l in dash computer)
    2009 Montero 2.5 dsl automatic: 10km/l

Full tank to empty then full tank method.

PS: Sometimes when i used to drive the picanto naiinip na ako kasi ilang days na nakalipas hindi pa rin kailangan magpa gas. I miss that feeling. Sa Escape I had to pray that my P500 pesos reaches 2 days.

Probably closer to 9.5 than 10, since on-board computers usually overestimate. The 9.7 km/L reported by your MID might even be closer to 9 km/L if the meter isn't all that accurate.

Nonetheless, even at 9 km/L in moderately heavy traffic, that's impressive. A 2-liter gas fed compact gets 7-7.5 km/l in those conditions from my experience...

Probably haven't used an MID before, eh? 16 km/L is moderate to heavy traffic, such as EDSA just a bit after the rush hour (pure rush hour EDSA is closer to 13-14 km/h average).

    2001 Honda Civic VTIs 1.6AT
My car was tried and tested for long drive from Manila to Davao last summer. Passengers 3 adults including driver plus trunk full of baggage. A/C is running for the duration of the trip. Average fuel consumption is 15kms/liter measured 3x during 3 filling stops. Confirmed it is indeed 15kms/ltr unbelievable but true! Maximum cruising speed 80kms/hr *2300rpm. Average speed during full trip is 55-60kms/hr on "relax" driving kasi ako lang ang pwede magdrive. Matipid ang civic pareho ng Vios 1.3MT na bineyahe ng friend ko from Manila to Mindanao, brandnew pa ung Vios na yun at unang biyahe pauwi mindanao!
City traffic driving for my Civic is averaging at 6-8 kms/liter, it depends on the condition of traffic.

Average from 4 Full Tanks, a 4.25% difference from Caltex and Petron. Same route and time everyday, Pasig-Makati (10-11AM) Makati-QC-Pasig (8-10PM)
Haven't tried Shell yet since Petron is the cheapest Diesel I have seen so far (with 3% rebate from BPI-Petron Mastercard).

same observation sir, more or less 5% nga ang nadadagdag sa mileage ko pag nag fuel up ako sa PETRON.... compare sa caltex or shell... (7km. per liter to 7.4...) city driving...

I think it doesn't over estimate. we did a traditional computation last time and the results were much better than the on board display. 8-11km/L, 12-14km/L with light traffic. 500 pesos worth of diesel gets me 110+km/L

    Nope.

I got 18.5km/L on the highway with averaging speeds of 100-140kph on my brand new Vios 1.3 MT months back. Then someone from this forum got a 22km/L++ on his Vios at an average speed of 70-80kph.

Your 15km/L is NOT unbelievable. You can do better, believe me.
