    Honda City 05 1.5 CVT
Never below 16 km/li combined hi-way/city driving (plus hataw pa sa NLEX every weekend). This is based on one year monitoring as i religiously compute for it everytime i gas up.

When i had my tyres changed from 185/55R15 to 195/55R15 (dahil wala mabili na pamalit sa stock - dont want to buy at Casa!!!), medyo napansin ko bumaba ako. sometimes i'm getting 15km/li and one time nag 14 pa nga!

hmmm.... what could be the reason?

185/55R15 to 195/55R15 --> means a lot more rubber on the road --> more rolling friction --> more engine work ---> more fuel consumption?

.. is this the same thing as under inflated tires (that why we get better mileage if our tires are over inflated than normal)

... just asking... could somebody confirm?

    Conversion of MPG to Km/l...

    US MPG / 2.35 = KM/L

    UK MPG / 2.82 = KM/L

As for tires... size is only a partial answer. Often, sportier tire compounds have greater rolling resistance than comfort or economy compounds. And the wider tire is also marginally heavier. Heavier tires/wheels have an effect on effective weight... If I remember correctly, every 1 pound added to each drive wheel is equivalent to 30 pounds of weight on the car. All three factors play a part in the lower fuel consumption.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

My daily driver is a 2006 3.3L V6 Hyundai Sonata GLS. If I'm easy on the gas pedal, I get 27-30mpg. But, I'm often a hard-headed moron who likes to punch it whenever I'm head at a stoplight. So, my gas mileage would drop to 22-24mpg.

what is your experience, good and bad, with the 10% ethanol blend? i also have a corolla 1.3 xl 97 model and am using petron unleaded and shell unleaded alternately. have not tried the 10% ethanol blend. i read from other forums (o fora?) na it may do more harm than good.

    thanks.

AFAIK... any amount of ethanol is not good for carb engines (as I assume that the 1.3L Rolla is carb).
