Mixed driving condition... from the Monday EDSA gridlock to zipping at 160kph.

I used the half-tank fill-up strategy. I noticed that I am getting better mileage (since my trip to Tagaytay) than filling up to a full-tank (my regular fuel consumption won't hit 9km/L before).
ingat ka din, di ka nakakasiguro kung ano ang laman ng fuel tank mo. eventually, nagkakaroon ng dumi ang fuel tank, lalo pag konti ang laman. yung dumi na yun can cause clog in your fuel pump. though, this would be unlikely.

    Latest:

    Ford Lynx RS:
Trackday: mixed urban traffic, highway hataw (160-207 km/h) and track session (60-160 km/h at very high rpm) - 8.5 km/l

Latest daily measurement: 9 km/l, mixed traffic and light highway use... but my driver did part of that... am going to check again next week during a time when I do all the driving. :D

    i'm driving my Corolla XL 1.3 M/T * EST. 8-10km/li City driving
    Question ko lang po :
1.) How do you exactly get the aprrox. gas consumption? do i need
to do a full tank? or half tank lang then record the odometer?(before and after refueling)

2.) Is my corolla XL at it's normal fuel consumption against other corollas? (i had my car tuned up today)

If it's still the carburated version, 8-10 is possible in really bad traffic. It all depends on your route.

The most accurate way is to fill the tank all the way, then record odometer readings from there. After about two or three days, refill the tank and compute your consumption versus kilometers travelled.

My car is 8-10 in normal usage, maybe 12+ for long trips.

Your car should do 8-10 km/l in traffic... or more, and 12-14 km/l on long trips.

No, gas savers are a big waste of money and time... absolutely all of them. Spend your money on oil changes, tune-ups and clean filters (air, oil, fuel) and proper maintenance.

There are some items (K&N cone filters, Michelin low-rolling resistance tires) that DO save gas as a SIDE-EFFECT, but the amount of fuel you save STILL won't cover the cost of upgrading to those items.
