Thanks for the inputs guys.
I just came from a repair shop a while ago.
My complain actually on my just acquired old model car is that, malakas sa gas and i smell gas whenever the window is open (fresh pa naman sana ang hangin dito sa baguio). anyway, i let my carburetor be cleaned (general cleaning). the mechanic found out that the jet valve is still original but its too big "daw" kaya malakas sa gas and that the carburetor is overflowing. the size of the jet valve is 190 and 112 (ano ba dapat ang size ng jet valve for 1400cc engine?) anyway, the mechanic recommend that we should change it to 112 and 85 respectively para matipid daw sa gas. i was worried that the power might deteriorate because of the significant decrease in size of the jet valve but he assured me that the power will still be the same and the fuel consumption will improved. after the repair, we road test it and the power deteriorated. we went back to the shop and he tuned up, made adjustment on various parts (i dont know kung ano yong mga parts na yon na nakakabit sa tension wires) and we road test it again. lumakas ulit yong hatak just like when the jet valves were not changed. i dont smell gas also kahit nakabukas yong window. for the fuel consumption, i will still observe if there will be an improvement for the next weeks.
At the shop, there is one 1979 model mitsubishi celeste being repaired with 4g32B engine (i dont know kung ilang cc yon). incidentally, the hood was open and i saw the gadget installed with mark "Khaos Super Turbo Charger". i look for the owner because i really want a first hand testimony on the gadget. sabi nya, he use to run an average of 8 KM/L before he installed the gadget and now he runs 10 KM/L. i doubt it immediately that he might exagerate it bacause i run an average of 5 to 6 KM/L with my boxtype considering that the terain here in baguio is almost 80% mountainous at saka masyadong matrafic. even my kia runs only 7 km/L. i always drive strictly not over 2000 rpm and i always use the highest possible gear. this is the second guy that i met here in baguio that use the said gadget. the first one was an owner of a wrangler powered by old model 15R toyota engine and he has the same testimony.
Guys, i will really observe if there will be an improvement on the fuel consumption of my boxtype for the next 4 weeks. but regardless of whether it will improve or not, i am still considering to install the gadget. anyway, my boxtype is old and it might be worth testing. sabi nga nila, to see is to believe.
to andy, the mileage reading of my boxtype is around 280,000 Km. i hope the adjustment made by the mechanic this morning will work.
