I just came from a repair shop a while ago.

My complain actually on my just acquired old model car is that, malakas sa gas and i smell gas whenever the window is open (fresh pa naman sana ang hangin dito sa baguio). anyway, i let my carburetor be cleaned (general cleaning). the mechanic found out that the jet valve is still original but its too big "daw" kaya malakas sa gas and that the carburetor is overflowing. the size of the jet valve is 190 and 112 (ano ba dapat ang size ng jet valve for 1400cc engine?) anyway, the mechanic recommend that we should change it to 112 and 85 respectively para matipid daw sa gas. i was worried that the power might deteriorate because of the significant decrease in size of the jet valve but he assured me that the power will still be the same and the fuel consumption will improved. after the repair, we road test it and the power deteriorated. we went back to the shop and he tuned up, made adjustment on various parts (i dont know kung ano yong mga parts na yon na nakakabit sa tension wires) and we road test it again. lumakas ulit yong hatak just like when the jet valves were not changed. i dont smell gas also kahit nakabukas yong window. for the fuel consumption, i will still observe if there will be an improvement for the next weeks.

At the shop, there is one 1979 model mitsubishi celeste being repaired with 4g32B engine (i dont know kung ilang cc yon). incidentally, the hood was open and i saw the gadget installed with mark "Khaos Super Turbo Charger". i look for the owner because i really want a first hand testimony on the gadget. sabi nya, he use to run an average of 8 KM/L before he installed the gadget and now he runs 10 KM/L. i doubt it immediately that he might exagerate it bacause i run an average of 5 to 6 KM/L with my boxtype considering that the terain here in baguio is almost 80% mountainous at saka masyadong matrafic. even my kia runs only 7 km/L. i always drive strictly not over 2000 rpm and i always use the highest possible gear. this is the second guy that i met here in baguio that use the said gadget. the first one was an owner of a wrangler powered by old model 15R toyota engine and he has the same testimony.

Guys, i will really observe if there will be an improvement on the fuel consumption of my boxtype for the next 4 weeks. but regardless of whether it will improve or not, i am still considering to install the gadget. anyway, my boxtype is old and it might be worth testing. sabi nga nila, to see is to believe.

to andy, the mileage reading of my boxtype is around 280,000 Km. i hope the adjustment made by the mechanic this morning will work.
It should. It's not surprising you were getting 5-6 km/l on your Lancer, if the carb was so flooded that you could smell gas.

If you're unsatisfied with your consumption after a month or so, you can follow ghosthunter's advice on fabricating your own "Khaos". It's pretty simple. It involves plugging a Simota breather unit (about P500) into a T-joint spliced into your air recirculation hose. It's quite a ways back in this thread, though.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

My bad, I meant compression ratio.

But it is at 8.5:1 on the Evo V.

Are you referring to terminology or the accuracy of the numbers?

I stumbled upon a "new" khaos site. Check it out, pictures of the Australian tests (although I can't find the results).

wag ninyong gagamitin. yung engine ninyo will run hot. if your car is equipped with a catalytic converter sira within 4 mos. yun. dalawa na kaming nasiraan noon sa U.S. na alam ko.

Noon? When did you have it installed? And where? Baka mali ang kabit? I dont understand how the cat could get hot when all it does is give you the correct air to fuel ratio (which is what you get, technically, when you step on the gas of a new fuel injected vihicle, nawawala lang naman ang tamang mixture when you let go of the gas, as far as i know)

    mendozil,

basahin mo from the beginning ang thread. low a/f ratio results into higher NOx emmissions and higher combustion temperatures. so the catalytic converter will get overloaded from the higher amounts of NOx and it will also run at higher temps. result, catalysts in the cat breaks down, sunog cat.

kulet! sinabi na nga kasing masama yan sa car nyo. besides, maawa naman kayo kay Mother Earth. khaos increases NOx production, more pollution is bad not just for your health but also BAD FOR THE HEALTH OF THIS PLANET THAT YOUR GRANDCHILDREN WILL INHERIT FROM YOU. period.

the cat doesn't get hot, the engine does if it's running on leaner mixtures.

the cat will get fouled up though because of all the NOx emissions.

Thanks for the feedback. Also been reading up on "Tony's Guide to Fuel Saving Gadgets". Enlightening. Something to think about, definitely. Thought about installing one kasi, but I wanted to be sure, that's why I have been trying to catch up.

After reading all 130 pages of this thread in two days, ang sakit ng ulo ko.

BUT, now more than ever, I am convinced that Khaos will work as advertised. I will not believe your much hyped analysis why it will not work. I will test it and prove to all of you that it's not a paperweight but a fully functional device.

Pwede namang ikabit sa aquarium aerator to di ba? Mas mainit na water, mas maganda pa mixture. T-link lang ,di ba? Besides kailangan ng water ng Nitrogen to balance algae and reduce CO2.

Kidding aside, I've been a lurker here for the longest time, and I admire you guys especially GH for debunking the Khaos myth, and in your own little way, educating the much-abused Filipino consumers.
