Yep. Wala namang control ang dealer sa presyo. And besides, "station owner" is still the oil company. Parehong company-owned stations yan.

But even with dealer-owned stations, it's still the oil company that dictates their prices. If you wanna control your own prices, mag-independent ka. But no independent station can ever match the volume of a branded station given the same area. That is, yung independent na nakaka-50 kl per month, gawin mo lang Shell or Petron yan magiging 100-150 kl per month na yan.

And even if you're an independent, you don't really control prices because no choice ka but to price in the same level as the major brands around you. Price yourself even just 0.25 higher than a nearby, Shell/Petron, sigurado lalangawin ka. Price yourself 1.00 lower and you still don't get the same volume. Price yourself 2-3 pesos lower and the majors will retaliate and match your prices. Nawalan ka na ng margin, wala ka paring customer.

So, no, dealers don't control their prices.

Shell SLEX SB is lower. That started because Petron Filinvest (owned by RSA himself) dropped prices a few years back. No choice for Shell but to match. Yung NB hindi na minatch kasi hindi naman kailangan. The increase in volume that you get for dropping prices is not commensurate to the overall margin you lose because your unit margin is much lower.

Main benefit of ethanol-free gasoline is that it lasts longer before going stale, since ethanol has a high affinity for water and is more prone to contamination.

Performance-wise, most modern engines don't really benefit from pure gasoline compared to E10. You can try loading up Blaze for several full tanks, then compare it with XCS or any other E10 fuel, again for several full tanks. The difference in fuel consumption and performance is minimal.

If you have a car na once a month or more bago ka mag gas use non ethanol blend dahil i think 3 weeks meron nang contamination ang ethanol fuel. Sa big bikes na bihira gamitin i use blaze baka ma contaminate at masira pa ang aking kabit. Hehe. Also multiple vehicles or once a week coding car should be on non ethanol imho

Thank you Jut for pointing that out.
I've been asking Shell about their fuelsave (91 RON E10) claiming it is "designed to last longer". But up until now NR lang si Shell. No figures to back up their representations. Perhaps you can enlighten us kung ano bang ibig sabihin nyan. In what context that it will last longer. Thanks.

Shell's FuelSave tagline refers to the claim that it supposedly gets better mileage. So you last longer (ergo, travel farther) with each full tank.

From my testing though, no significant difference vs. other brands. I posted the results a few pages back on this thread.

On my own experience. Mas gusto ko ang 95 ron ni shell. Mas ok e takbo at kung long ride mas nakaka save... pero kung city driving na parang stop and go parang mas ok ang 91 ron kasi mas mura... kaya ginagawa ko pag long drive 95 ron. Pag city city lang 91 ron..

Recently tried Petron Blaze 100 and my 3-cylinder engine likes it. Nawala ang pings.

    I'll take advantage while it's still below 40 /l.

Mirage HB. 100 ron ang Blaze.
Actually as per the owner's manual, around 90 ron lang ang required.

My usual gas is FuelSave or nitro+ depende sa availability pero nagsimulang mag-ping after pakargahan one time sa Shell Naga Road, Las Pinas. May problema yata fuel nila dahil sa ibang Shell station naman never akong nagkaproblem.

Anyways, Blaze muna ako to clean out the engine habang mura pa.
