our group here in cebu have converted an F-150 V8 4WD pickup and a "96 Lexus LS400 4.0Liter V8, BOTH vehicles are MPFI's. mileage for both vehicles is almost similar to using gasoline, savings are on the costs difference between LPG (26\ltr) and gasoline (over 40/ltr). uphill power and acceleration is not an issue as long as correct tuning of the system has been done.

Was reading the motoring section of Inquirer (last Friday yata). There was a write up about a company that supposedly specializes in converting Euro cars such as benz and BMWs to lpg.

Company name is Electromex tel# 531-6782 and 535-9069

whats your consumptions before and afer?
As per the previous posts, expect your consumption to increase by around 15 to 20%. But since lpg is cheaper you still save on cost per km.

you might want to make a cost study to see if it's feasable for you to convert.

Sealed tank yun paano mapupunta sa baga niya? If hindi sealed yun, walang pressure.

And may added agents ang LPG para maamoy mo in case it leaks.

Kahit magleak iyon, dapat maamoy mo kasi may odor agent na nakahalo dun sa LPG.

Unless nagtipid siya at hindi pinaayos yung leak. Ibang usapan na yun.

As far as I know, lpg kits are equiped with 2 safety valves that are designed to shut off fuel supply in case of a leak. One is on the tank and another in the engine bay.

GH, Chuaed and others pls confirm if this is correct or if I am misinformed.

Assuming that the above is correct, then it will be impossible to drive if there is a leak as there will be no fuel. A remote possibility is that he overfilled the tank and the pressure release valve functioned. Thereby releasing some lpg. However, he should be able to smell it as an odorant is added to lpg to give it a rotten egg smell.

Rode a taxi to the airport a couple of weeks back, I discovered when I got my luggage from the trunk that the taxi was LPG powered. Didn't smell anything unusual.

I was looking at the LPG-equipped BMW 5 in the Sport Truck show and it seems good. For EFI it comes with it's own fuel management system and the power loss on EFI cars seems to be negligeable as compared to carb vehicles... There's also an option of having the tank in the spare tire area if you need the luggage space.

it's correct. At least the NAIADSS and MACRO LPG kits have two solenoid safety valves (one at the tank and second at the engine bay) which will shut off supply.

If there is any leak of LPG from the system, you can smell it before you can find the leak. In fact the people of NAIADSS have a tool (some sort of sonic detector) to detect micro-leaks.
