Salamat *Mile2. Actually my dealer is Toyota Bicutan. They told me that they actually did conversion around 2009 (project daw ng manager nila before) but when I asked them about accredit shop/installer wala daw sila ganon (maybe inhouse yun installation nila before). I asked them also regarding engine warranty if ever i decided na magpakabit/convert sa authorized shop nila ang sabi lang sakin is depende sa pagkakabit which is parang hindi gaano malinaw.

Regarding pala sa warranty, sa dealer ko lang ba ako makipag-usap or puwede sa ibang toyota dealer?

If I can still retain my engine warranty I'm planning to do conversion maybe next year.

    salamat.

AFAIK, you can go to any dealer for warranty as stated in your owner's handbook.

I called MTBC today and they told me that Ryan (if I remember it correctly. he's assistant manager on sales/parts?) will call me back maybe tomorrow.

Yes you're correct, its VOGAS after i read article from Philstar (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleid=481069).

    Question po:
    1. what's the difference between vogas kit and sgi kits being sold by greenfuel?
    2. any feedback (good or bad) on using vogas as compared to sgi by greebfuel since if econogaz/vogas is still accredit by toyota without loosing my warranty i go there (if the price is similar or much closer to greenfuel's).

    TIA *Mile2

    2. heard good feedback (on this thread) for greenfuel and little on vogas. i'm not sure may greenfuel has good kit or good price.
    3. any feedback on using vogas as compared to greenfuel or the other way around (good or bad)? i'm up to retaining my engire warranty but i just wanted to see pros and cons for these 2 kits.

    salamat po.

From what I read VOGAS uses Gasoline and LPG at the same time all throughout. Maybe some VOGAS LPG users here can add more. I'm not sure if VOGAS has toroidal tank.

Standard SGI kits (GreenFuel) use to start the engine with Gasoline and when you hit 2000RPM it automatically switches to LPG with momentary (3 secs) switching to Gasoline and back to LPG every intervals. 10 minutes interval I'm not sure because I don't time it ever since but I could see the LED indicator switching back in fort from LPG to Gasoline and vise versa. The big plus with GreenFuel kit is the toroidal tank that is placed outside the car (Innova), mine has no drilling done on the body since I volunteered to do my own tank mounting, I personally design my own tank mounting with cage and skid plate.

Ryan have seen my Innova with toroidal LPG tank underneath.

Might call again TMBC later this week since I haven't received any call from them yet. Called Econogaz last week to check their prices on SGI and Vogas. SGI priced *39k + 5.5k for donut tank; Vogas (not the Vogas plus) priced *52.5k + 5.5k the donut tank (55k puwede daw ibigay).

They told me also that in order to retain my warranty, the installation must be done inside toyota casa. parang i need to contact toyota dealer that deals with lpg conversion and they will contact their accredit installer and the installation will be done inside casa and toyota might have increase the price (parang mark up nila to retain the warranty? not sure if this is the procedure up to now).

Yes Vogas is Gas + LPG all the time. They can configure the ratio or mixture of gas/lpg during installation. The Vogas Plus (they have 2 vogas products. vogas and vogas plus) is the dual ecu model and based on my reading this was also the kit that was used to demo to toyota phil.

Question po ulit *mile2. after you're lpg installation na-void yun engine warranty mo since it was done outside sa casa tama po ba? did this affect the your insurance? did you call your insurance agent before and after installation?

*juanluna - nakita ko na nagpakabit ka ng vogas sa econogaz sa 2007 innova mo. musta naman po ang performance, fc and after sales service? may mga na-encounter kana ba na major problem up to this date?

    salamat po ulit.

Probably it is void, but I never run into engine problem then even up to now 4 years na itong ride ko. Just recently got oil leak at the cylinder head cover which normal even on non LPG vvti (altis, Innova, fortuner), just replaced the head cover rubber gasket and the oil leak was out.

Insurance, never did I mentioned it to my insurer. It would be up to you to declared it.

I screwed the warranty on my Altis a year after we got it (12,000kms ran); installed the LPG and stopped going to the toyota stealership. Car still runs very well, three years and 60,000kms later. I only replaced my OEM rotors which warped (got replacements) and nothing ever had to be claimed under warranty.

My a/c now has a small leak though :P

thanks sa quick reply. i'm also thinking doing the same thing since i did some research on vvti issue/s on this site (tsikot) and in google but can't find any major issues on vvti engine. parang ang iniisip ko ay worth ba yun risk ko on voiding the engine warranty.

yung conversion ay engine warranty lang yun mawala po sakin di ba? pero puwede pa din ako mag pa PMS sa kanila kahit na void n un engine warranty ko (for same price as regular PMS or may patong na?)? if ever masira un shock ko or other parts (besides sa engine or those parts na out of warranty na talaga) makaclaim ko pa din po?

Finally Ryan/Rey of TMBC called me up yesterday about my inquiry. he told me it will be around 60k for vogas plus (nakalimutan ko itanong kung donut tank na ba ito ). this is the only kit they recommend for my unit since this is the one they tested.

I called some installers too to inquire sgi prices:
    - xoom auto gas: 38.5k + 4,250 donut tank
    - ekogaz: 32k. donut tank is not available daw
    - greenfuel: 37k with donut tank 55L. puwede 40% down + 3 PDCs good for 60days.

kakausapin ko muna misis ko. parang gusto ko na erisk yun warranty ko hehehe

In the case of my brother's 1st gen XP, it was converted to Auto-LPG by Greenfuel and runs well. He had a 75L torrodial tank fitted where the spare used to be.

The problem is the stock fuel pump of the XP conked out twice. The reason of ford was "non-use" caused the failure.

Oo, last summer pinakabitan ko nang LPG yong Innova ko at until now okay naman. Sa Econogas Araneta ave. ako nag pa convert & it cost me 50K. with toroidal tank. After a month I went back to them to tune-up the vogas kit to make sure na everything is okay kasi ayaw ko na may diference in power from gasoline to LPG and vice versa. I always use LPG at yong gasolina ay once everyweek ko lang gamit para hindi ma spoil yong gasoline sa tanke dahil once a month lang ako mag load ng gasoline (4 liters only). Ang vogas kit ay automatic s'yang mag change-over to gasoline pag wala ng LPG. at dual core yong motorola ECU unit nila that control the LPG flow kaya wala kang mararamdaman na LPG ang gamit mo.

    About 2 years.

Personally, unless you have a real need for a big vehicle with a big engine, it would still be best to simply get rid of the XP and get a smaller SUV like a Nissan X-Trail which can also be fitted with an Auto-LPG kit.

Maintenance of the XP is expensive. I have seen 1st gen XPs with failed air-ride suspension and that is very expensive to fix if it breaks down.

paano po yun setup ng vogas plus nyo? start with gas then after engine warmed up nag auto-switch to LPG then all thru out 100% siya (i mean wala yun 10:90 gas:lpg ratio)? un 100% lpg hanggang anong rpm sya? ano yun date na fc nyo noong gas and noong nag lpg na ikaw? nagpalit kaba ng ibang spark plug or same lang sa stock ng innova?

pasenya na po madami masyado tanong.

    salamat po.

I start it with 100% LPG and off you go. There's no ratio between gas & LPG it's either you use LPG or Gasoline. Hindi ako nag palit ng spark-plug kong ano yong sa Toyota yon ang gamit ko.

You might want to contact the landrover club if any of their members have a petrol version LR.

You can also catch the episode of WHEELER DEALERS where they modified a Land Rover to Auto-LPG. I found it on YOUTUBE if you want to watch it.
