    ah yes.
    the comfortable seats do have a way of eating into the passenger space.
    i once mentioned it to my colleague, as i was riding inside his comfortable fort.
    he did not believe.
    maliit kasi siya kaysa sakin. he does not feel the difference.

    so, why don't i fort?
    1. maskikip neighborhood streets namin, and
    2. my passengers are vertically-challenged and/or of weak knee. the stepboard doesn't help much.

    if i may, if TS wants to save, he can get a slightly used, older body innova.
    there's not much difference between the old one and the new, passenger space-wise, my colleague who has/had both, attests.

    Kaso day and night talaga ang difference ng 2KD vs 1GD.

    so is the price, i imagine.
    heh heh.

    my office colleague, who has had both, is an average family man and an average driver.
    he says, "wala masyadong pagkaka-iba" yung bago sa luma.

    it really depends on what one wants his drive to do for him.
    my needs are simple.
    i frequently get overtaken in the slex.

    Iba yata ang tuning ng engine ng innova sa fortuner.. pero yung 1GD naka timing chain na compared sa t-belt ng 2kd..

    Tsaka yung innova na naka 2kd parang bitin yung gears nya.. dapat 6 speed

    2kd - 4speed - 102 hp - 1.2M pesos
    1gd - 6 speed - 171 hp - 1.5M pesos

    The 1gd is really really really more responsive once you've compared one to the other. That's not even going into the differences inside - 1gd wins hands down even there.

    1gd is also more fuel efficient by 2kms/L compare to kd engine, more reaponsive and quit engine

    Detuned yung 1GD ng new Innova compared sa 1GD ng Fort pero a far cry pa rin compared to the 2KD-FTV na Innova. You still get at least 160ps and 340NM with the 1GD unlike its predecessor na 102PS/200NM. And yes, mas fuel efficient yung 1GD.

    My budget ceiling would be the Fortuner G AT (diesel). Main considerations are:
    1. Ability to comfortably fit 7 people (twins, wife, yayas);
    2. Stability in highway runs (from Isabela to Manila travel);
    3. Riding comfort;
    4. Relatively silent cabin;
    5. Adequate power; and
    6. Available discounts?

    I chose Toyota because their casa is near us. I'm not particular about diesel or gas variants but I see that on paper, diesels have more torque. I need your opinions since there is no way I can test drive these vehicles nor have I any first hand experience in riding one.

    I have also considered the MUX but i got turned off with the 3% D.I., I've considered vans but they seem too cumbersome. I'm not keen on buying second hands.

    Thank you in advance for your inputs!
    Test drive bro. My colleague regretted his decision to buy fortuner(2016) without doing a test drive. he drove montero before and he told me ride comfort was miles apart. Super tagtag daw ng fortuner. But better to test drive, same bramd naman ng options mo

    twins?

    speaking from experience,
    get a van, po.
    you will have to have space for the proverbial kitchen sink.

    We have a 2015 Toyota Fortuner G and 2018 Innova 2.8V, performance wise Innova is not even close. Innova was so unstable when driving 140-160 kph. Di ko sure about sa matagtag kasi i was either driving or sitting in the front passenger.
