    For the meantime, I will be visiting the casa to get a quote so I know how much I am dealing with. My wife and I already have a set amount we have discussed that we can spare for the car we plan to purchase. hopefully pasok sya sa budgeted namin monthly.

    The Avanza and Rush looks good too. However, I was picking between the two firstly because they had the promo in the dealership in our hometown. Secondly, I like the arrive the innova has over the avanza or rush. Technically we could still afford it. But if the baby arrives sometime next year, it might be difficult to keep up.

    I am still in discussion with my wife and I think she would agree with me when I say the baby expense plus the car expense (if we pick the Innova) would be too much for us to bear.

    I see. Then it's really either the Innova or the Fortuner. But I think I already made up my mind to get the Innova rather than the fortuner. The 200k premium of the Fortuner over the Innova is no joke.

    On a different note, would the savings from getting the E variant rather than the G variant. As far as i know, the main differences are the Immobilizer, Airconditioning system (manual vs auto), Rear parking sensor. Would it be better to save and get the E variant and just have an outside supplier install the parking sensors, etc?

    I suggest you check out both trims of the Innova. If you are considering the Fortuner, maybe you can consider the TOTL Innova model. The Innova 2.8V has the captain's seats and a more refined interior trims.

    Not just the 200k premium. Consider the cost of registration renewals (SUV vs UV), cost of tires (SUV tires are considerably pricey versus van tires), cost of underpinnings, and even insurance premiums.

    Get an E matic. The added electronic bells and whistles do not age well if you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time, much better just to have added non-essential accessories installed outside.

    Sir, also check for safety features on G vs E... since you are planning to bring with you your family in the vehicle... i know toyota has standard 7 airbags... also, some safety features cannot be installed outside casa...

    My budget ceiling would be the Fortuner G AT (diesel). Main considerations are:
    1. Ability to comfortably fit 7 people (twins, wife, yayas);
    2. Stability in highway runs (from Isabela to Manila travel);
    3. Riding comfort;
    4. Relatively silent cabin;
    5. Adequate power; and
    6. Available discounts?

    I chose Toyota because their casa is near us. I'm not particular about diesel or gas variants but I see that on paper, diesels have more torque. I need your opinions since there is no way I can test drive these vehicles nor have I any first hand experience in riding one.

    I have also considered the MUX but i got turned off with the 3% D.I., I've considered vans but they seem too cumbersome. I'm not keen on buying second hands.

    Thank you in advance for your inputs!
    Test drive bro. My colleague regretted his decision to buy fortuner(2016) without doing a test drive. he drove montero before and he told me ride comfort was miles apart. Super tagtag daw ng fortuner. But better to test drive, same bramd naman ng options mo

    speaking from experience,

    We have a 2015 Toyota Fortuner G and 2018 Innova 2.8V, performance wise Innova is not even close. Innova was so unstable when driving 140-160 kph. Di ko sure about sa matagtag kasi i was either driving or sitting in the front passenger.

    the "justifications" to speeding are many and varied.

    a colleague recently found his good solution.
    "dr. d! i got myself a driver! i can now take a nap.. the longer the traffic, the longer the nap!"

    Reckless if you endanger others. The Germans have proven that giving people the option to go faster does not endanger slower drivers. If you can't drive fast on expressways, then keep on the slow lane. Driving slow on the fast lane is just being inconsiderate and reckless.

    You need more than a good braking system to drive the car faster - engine, tranny, suspension, safety systems, etc. If you're car is not up for it, then don't push your car to speeds it can't sustain.

    Back to topic - OT na tayo sobra.
