Para sa kin kung ang budget eh pasok ang brand new unit na pangharabas eh di dun na ako sa brand new.
Pano mo pang-harabas ang 2nd hand, eh 2nd hand to begin with na nga yun.
----
I think what you really want is a a 2nd Suv na pasok sa budget mo. And in your case, pasok ang Montero, Fortuner, crv, etc
Precisely the reason why pre-owned hanap ko. At my current budget, walang pasok na brand new sa requirements ko- strike anywhere that seats 6-7, meaning flood capable that can seat 7.
I also beg to differ na di porke't 2nd hand di na pwede pangharabas. Remember I'm targetting a 1-3 year old vehicle, so di na siya pwede pangharabas?

Toyota Innovas have such high resale value it doesn't make sense to buy it used.
Thanks for the suggestions bro. I know these cars are spacious but I would prefer sana higher ground clearance for those flash floods. Right now, plan to look at pre-owned Everests and Innovas.
BTW, went to Ford Greenhills to check out the new Everest.... really tempting, but parang ayaw ko siya ipangharabas, hehe. Have to stick to my budget, magagalit na sakin si wifey, hehe.
Bili ka na lang Jimny or ambiente na ecosport pasok sa budget mo ng 800k
Dont be so sure na pwede pa pangharabas ang 3 year old Monteros, Forts at 800k kasi dyan nagsisimula sakit ng Suv
In my honest opinion, all suvs should be sold at half the price of srps. Kagad para may allowance kasa sa possible problems
Dito lang sa Manila. Suv owners would buy 1.3M suvs then sell at 900k, dapat 650k below kagad considering all other options
So dont buy those 800k suvs. Buy brand new
Bro, alam mo naman si OB yan. All talk, no walk. Probably has never bought a pre-owned SUV/pangharabas machine.
I recently helped my aunt pick out a used ASX (2011 model). She got it for 650k, GLS SE variant. No headaches so far. Some minor niggles like faulty steering wheel audio controls, but I've brought it to the province and it was fine. Drove it to 200 and it was fine.
Just remember that it takes a bit of patience in finding the best secondhand car for your budget. There probably won't be a perfect secondhand unit with absolutely nothing to fix, but you can get close.
Heck, I just bought an 11-year old car and after a month (only had time to fix it on weekends), it's running well enough to be a highway cruiser that I can bring to the province.
Buying secondhand requires effort, but IMO if you have a bit of car knowledge and a lot of patience, it gives much better value for money than buying brand new.

Of course the new Everest is much better than the old Everest, or the Fortuner, or the Montero. It's also much more expensive.
The new Everest Trend costs almost 800k more than the 3-year old Everests that bjreyes is looking at. That's twice the price. 800k is enough tuition for 4 years of college plus allowances. 800k is a lot of money for investment.
You're proposing for him to DP 800k, then loaning the rest. Instead na makatipid and magstick to the budget, uutang pa siya.
I noticed this happens a lot in this forum. Someone sets a budget and then others propose something else that's much more expensive. Never mind that it's better, it blows out your budget. Why not get a Land Cruiser instead? We're way off budget anyway.
I think if he wanted a brand new SUV, he'd say so. He has a Lexus IS after all. But the point of the thread was a relatively cheap pre-owned, go-anywhere SUV that seats 7. If the Everest at 750-800k isn't to his liking, there are similarly-aged Fortuner Gs and Montero GLS-Vs for about 850-900k.
Just my 2 cents. ☺

I suggest the following warehouses:
East West bank
Location: Sanford compound, West Service Rd., SLEX, Paranaque (take entrance beside old Astra Zeneca and Robinson's condo)
Comments: Usually open on a Saturday, but call first on Friday to check. Marami bago sa East West and you only need to put in a P10K check along with your bid form. They do bidding frequently, like once every one or two weeks. Due to the frequent bid periods, you're most likely to win even if you just meet the minimum bid. Wala ka kalaban most of the time.
UCPB
Location: Oyster Plaza warehouse, Sucat (near McDo and Airport mall)
Comments: Marami stock compared to other banks. Super dami. Also, they have a lot more expensive cars here like Santa Fes, Land Cruisers, BMWs, etc. But most of the stock don't have a price yet since they're still for redemption. Their bidding periods are infrequent and you'll have to rely on the sale price. Pwede pa naman tawaran yung sale price.
PSBank
Location: C5, Pasig (beside Wilcon and Red Ribbon)
Comments: Most popular since they're always open on a Saturday while most bank warehouses are only open on weekdays. Only thing I don't like at PSBank is you have to queue, get a number, and choose only three cars you want to open. Want to check more than 3 cars? Queue again. Maladas at least 30 mins wait time in line. Agawan to sa good stock during mornings, especially Saturday.
You have to fast forward into the near futurre, buying those ladder SUvs now will only lose more of your money
The new fort and new montero are already launched an and will be released next year. This will create downward spiral of resale value of current Forts and monteros as more and more Forts and Montero will enter the used market.
It can be as early as 4-5 months from now. If you buy 800k now, guaranteed you will lose 300k kagad in 5 months as SUVs no matter how slightly used will settle at P500k range
We are now America in terms of saturation of cars because of the current car subprime crisis.
Best time to buy next year. Even I would think twice on getting a slightly used Montero at 500k, add 100k mods and gawin ko offroader sa Tanay trails
That may be true for the Montero and Fortuner, but since naglabas na ng new Everest, I'm trying to take advantage of the relatively lower price of the previous model.
Might be remote na magkaroon ng 500k na 2 year old SUV sa market, I would rather keep it than sell it at that low a price.
Montero sport '09-2010 or fortuner 07-09. Subok ko na both. Madali ang spare parts but inmo, iba pa din ang brand new. Gagamitin mo na lang at less headache.
Mababa mo talaga mabebeta pag gas Fortuner Atty. Mga 600-650k.
