I'll go for CX-7 because of its nice styling in and out.

But if you have a "speed racer" blood, go for the forester turbo. Vruuum Vruummm!

I was leaning for a family type of vehicle but inside of me wanted speed. Checked different dealers and ended on a Subaru Dealer, I was drooling * the STI pero had to think twice considering the insurance. They had one XT left and did a little research that the engine thats under the hood was a WRX. Cool.... went to youtube and I was sold w/ the capability and performance. AWD-symmetrical drive, i.e. I've taken it off-road, not scared getting stuck on the dirt or sand. Perfect on red lights 0 to 60, or getting in on a merging lane. Raced the vehicle several times and its awesome, had to slow down after getting chased by local cops, luckily crossed the line, out from their jurisdiction. Anyways, got a Dark Gray version, got mistaken and complimented as a BMW X3(not just once). Maintenance is minimal. I got a standard XT instead of premium package cuz I intend to build my sound system w/ my own components. Love the car, friends hate me cuz I drive like a NY taxi driver. Plus SF-XT parts are made in Japan while M-CX7 are tied up w/ Ford company. Check wikipedia.... w/ company history. Statistics shows that most people who bought the forester were smart and professional. J/K - Fin

there is a comparison of the CX-7 vs SF XT at http://www.motioncars.com/

overall rating is .............. a tie. both vehicles scored a 9.0

but, i was pleasantly surprised by the fuel economy of the 7 based on the actual motioncars road test

Direct Link = Fast Family: Mazda CX-7 vs Subaru Forester XT

Note: For some reason, motioncars reviews seem to have way too optimistic fuel consumption rates. Must be all highway and no city routes.

Huwag ng forester.. Dumadami na tayo naka FXT...

Seriously, nuong pumili ako ng kotse, baligtad naman, yung CX7 ang walng stock based sa MAZDA (yung katabi ng MI) and MI has FXT stock kaso limited ang kulay... I really wanted a SUBARU so FXT na kinuha ko..

The 2.0X has enough power for city driving. It's not sluggish, it's just that the 2.5XT is really powerful. Just try not to test drive the 2.5XT, you might end up buying one.

Too late... I'm scheduled to test drive both on sat!

Though, my mind is set... I'll be getting the 2.0 and just add drop in upgrades like filter and intake if I do find it sluggish for city driving.

Wag lang matukso masyado sa 2.5... bahala na

On the other hand, I'm also scheduled for a cx-7 test drive on sunday. Just wanted to see how much difference the handling and power between the cx-7 and the 2.0x. CX-7 is scratched from my list due to it's smaller cabin space. medyo nasisikipan nga ko sa leg room sa likod.

Exactly, kaya nga pinagpipilian ko lang tlga 2.0x and 2.5xt. Pero wala tlga sa budget ko yung 2.5xt. Ang problema lang pag sobra hina tlga yung 2.0

300k difference bro if you can wait para mag ipon ka muna then i suggest wait lang muna. fc is almost the same, maintenance of course mas mahal yung xt but very minimal ang difference so yon lang naman ang mararamdaman mo yung 300k difference lang but maintenance and fc you won't feel na mas mahal ang xt since very minimal lang ang difference, but the driving experience is worlds apart.

Fom 2.0x To 2.5xt malaki difference, 400k naisip ko kung bitin tlga 2.0x, i'll just add turbo kit, mga 150k gastos diba? Or minor mods like Air filter or kung ano pa pwde that wouldnt affect warranty. so it still ends up cheaper than getting a 2.5xt. Di ko naman kasi tlga magagamit ganun kalakas na power for city driving

By the way, a friend mentioned na meron daw chip binebenta subaru mismo to increase speed/ torque for the 2.0??? Totoo ba yun?

if you put turbo on your 2.0x you'll have a lot of issues on your car, plus the turbo kit available for the 2.0x won't make your car as fast as the xt. so not only that you made your car unreliable but you also didn't make your car even just as fast as the xt. unlike if you get the xt in the first place, it's already faster than a turbo'd 2.0x and it's reliable, it'll handle better, also if you plan to mod it more then you'll have more hp than a fully modded 2.0x.

installers are reliable naman especially speedlab and orange, the problem is the car itself it would lose it's reliability because the 2.0x engine isn't designed to be turbo'd.
