mas ok nga siguro ang mra pre-owned merc kaysa bimmer kasi mine is 21,000 km ng ma mabili ko, problem na yong two windows nya, 7k plus to change the window controler. nag palit na din ako ng bushing sa right lower arm controler nya. it cost me almost 8k sa casa. bimmer is fun to drive pero kung di ka ready sa mga extra gastos think twise in buying 2nd hand.. siguro swerte swerte lang nag pag bili ng 2nd hand

swertihan lang but believe me 2nd hand bimmers are way better than 2nd hand merc depende narin sa pinanggalingan yan .... our 2 bmws, 97 316i e36 and 02 525i e39 never had any problems compared to the benz na kalabn nila likethe c class and e class which is full of problems

kung namahalan ka sa 7k na window hintayin mo masiraan ka sa benz then maybe youd just go back to the bimmer

Take your pick. Original, replacement or surplus. hehehe.

Our W124 has a Viper anti-theft system that was made to interface with the stock vacuum operated locks.

There is one head to avoid, yung #14 head. Not sure kung common ito sa 124 but sa 126 medyo common. Prone sa headgasket problems yun.

1987 yung 300TD na 124, yun yung wagon version.

200k miles is nothing in US roads. Heck, our 81 300TD has 372k miles! (598,548km)

So I think this will benefit you in the long run in terms of maintenance and parts. We used to have one of those 1-2-3 bodied benz which we sold God knows kelan pa yun, but I still see it running today like it did when it used to take me to school .

I'd say go for the Benz, BMW while it's a terrific car to drive will require more maintenance.

The W124 and W210 are great choices.

Bimmer since I drive most of the time and I would choose a sportier car. I also like the styling a lot better. But the Benz that you talk of is a solid car. Mostly no problems at all.

I agree the E39 (5 series) and E36 (3 series), E30 (M3) have a terrific styling, they also had alot more BMW character than today's Banglized Bimmers of today.

Resurrecting the thread a second time!

How about a toss-up between a '95 C180 and a '97 320i? Both auto trannies, petrol engines, with roughly 45K on the odometer.

Which would have the upper hand in terms of:

1.) Reliability - as the vehicle would be self-driven daily
2.) Maintenance - parts availability and cost
    3.) Comfort

    Thanks!

2001 Cefiro Elite nalang. Yung may sunroof. May natira pa you for repairs/mods...

Get ready to pay more sa MB but in return very comfortable daw talaga.

With regards to the C180(W202) and 320i(E36), nagkaroon ako both Benz and BMW, Yung Benz wala naman naging problema for the 2 years that I owned it. Unfortunately I could not say the same for the BMW, puro problema at sakit ng ulo ang napala ko.
