Depende parin sa driving habits mo bro. Even a 4 speed matic can be thrifty if you drive it right. Besides, you most likely won't be able to use 6th gear most of the time. Though that one's good to have in the highway.

Napakaluma na ng 4speed transmission. dapat i-phase out na yan at wala na dapat bumili nyan mapa AT or MT. At least 5 speed na kunin mo.
consumption depends on the rpm sir. pg mostly city driving ka mas maganda ang matic dahil hindi ka nag over rev sa stop and go na traffic. but pag sa provincial area w/c has a long stretch of road and no traffic mas ok ang manual. but it still depends on your right foot. if m/t try changing gear at low rpm to increase fuel efficiency.
Kung out of the blue na kargahan lang i-pa deliver monalang kung appliances at mag hire ka ng L300 Van kung mga furnitures, mas makakamura kapa. Then use the money to buy the car you really like. But if you really want a pick-up for everyday use, then either get a strada or a dmax, if you want something na latest then get a ranger.
you may want to include in your selection list the chevrolet colorado. pasok sa budget mo yung 2.5L 4x2 MT * 1.148M

How often do you that? IMHO, you really want to buy a pickup and trying to justify it ..

Ako mas gusto ko pa rin pickup kahit I know I can live with a sedan. Mas matibay kas and makesme less oc in driving on pholippine roads. Kahit sa banketa pwede mo sampa sampa. Mas maporma siya for me vs suvs hehehe. Kaya kanyang trip. Form over functionality for me hehe. RANGER!

Mga Sir good morning, salamat sa mga nagrereply I really appreciate it. But unfortunately undecided pa din ako which pick-up will I go.
4. Colorado - parehas lang sya sa tingin ko sa laki ng Ranger, pero medyo mas mahal sya kumpara sa iba tapos wala pa mga bed liner na kasama, pero head turner to pag dala dala mo, issue is same sa Ranger as everyday car.
5. DMAX - wala ako macocomment dito kasi hindi ko sya nasakyan although yun mga naririnig kong comment eh maingay daw makina at mausok kaya siguro di ako nagkaka-interes.
6. HiLux - for me masyado syang truck kaya di rin ako masyado nagka interes dito.
I own a Dmax, sir, so I am biased towards it. So if you will ask me, Dmax ang pipiliin ko. For me kasi gusto ko ang exterior looks niya. Interior, hmm, ok lang, nothing to really brag about or make you wow. Model 08 ung akin so walang mga accessories as compared to the '13 model.
Engine, it's not a sprinter pero never ka naman niya ipapalya sa akyatan and kahit sa highway. Mabilis din naman siya, mine can run up to 175 kph then the speed limiter will interfere.
But don't really expect much comfort especially if you sit at the back, matagtag kasi. It does about 10+ kms/liter, city driving. Full tank ko is around 1800 pesos and it does about 600 kms.
Maintenance if it's expensive, it depends on the parts that need to be replaced. Just check the Dmax thread if you wanna see kung ano ano na ung na-replaced sa Dmax ko. Pero mahal din ang parts niya especially the SCV, EGR, brake pads, such and such.
Yun nga lang matagal na siya sa market and rumor has it that the all new is coming soon... Kung totoo man un.
But if you will put the Ranger in the picture, doon talaga ako. Mas bago, mas macho, mas gwapo.
Good luck in choosing!
Hehe, ayos!
For me, I want a pick-up because it is a truck. Being a truck, kelangan hauler sya.
:bike2:
* TS, my advise is.. Test drive and choose what your heart tells you. You won't regret it no matter what defects and shortcomings it will make if you really like it. I'd been in your shoes on 2008 (same with Sir rna800). Been for a market for my all-arounder car that can haul and yet get the speed (i usually do long drives). That time Strada and Navara were the newest truck. LoL
Since this is an alternate car, don't complain with the size kaya nga you're choosing pickup because you have already the idea of its size and how big it maneuvers..
As for the flood, as a general rule kung hindi mo na makita ang gutter dont drive thru it lalo na hindi kabisado..
Re 6 speed based from my own ride(Navara), useful sa twisty roads where you need to attack the corners without downshifting. Also useful during steep climbs and hauling. Yung 5th gear kasi ng 6-speen parang additional lang ng ordinary 5 gears, nilagay lang in between 4 and 5 so you get more medium to highspeed gearband.
Fuel economy will depend on how addicted you are to torque. CRDI engine almost same consumption.
Speed? Depends on the driver, but i find Nav dynamics more comfortable on high speed. Strada, Hilux, Dmax, and Ranger nababagalan ako sa acceleration, hirap sa habulan, but they can still keep up. Again driver factor pa rin ito.
Ride quality.. What quality? they're leaf sprung pickups trucks. Seriosuly, Strada has edge on this but it compromised the load capacity, put larger wheels and ur getting dribbled by unsprung weight. With the 4x2 Nav, leaf springs are thicker for higher load capacity, so there you go.. matagtag. 4x4 Nav gets the softer ride thou same(if not better) with the Strada. All these pickups just like any leaf sprungs, rides softens when laden.
Reliability will depend on maintenance. The life of vehicle greatly depend on the engine, no engine and your truck is good as dead. For CRDI, the fuel is what you need to watch out. CRDI works on very tight clearances that small impurities could destroy the costly fuel system. I find the 2 fuel filters of Navara very ideal for our dirty fuel.
