Dun na ako sa CX-7 compared sa Tucson GLS 2WD. Simply because CX-7 has more toys inside

but! iX is hell no a poor man's CX-7. Does CX-7 have the R e-VGT engine and Panorama sunroof?

in all objectivity, no car is a poor man's car. you can say an "imitation of" like what we see in a number of chinese vehicles but anyone who can buy a car, and maintain it, is certainly not "poor."

buying a car involves serious cash, either upfront or on installments

not all of our kababayans can afford a vehicle so it is quite a privilege to have a car, no matter what it is (brand new or even second hand)

    i sooo agree...

back to topic, go with the CX-7... very nice toys, indeed... plus no more wait time, which can kill...

because pearl white camry is not available anytime soon that time...

this, cx7, was one of the choices as well..
coming from mazda 3 2.0 liter and all of its "maintenance and warranties", and knowing that the "looks" of cx7 has been "there" for a while (which can be replaced real soon ??), i chose tucson.

i'm not the fan of cx7's tail lights and the new front design of mazda (looks like smiling)

i also considered forester and crv by the way but dropped them agad.

bottomline is kung saan ka happy.
happy to clean, happy to drive, happy to spend gasoline/diesel with..

let's wait for other feedbacks that hopefully can help you decide.

PS: ito ang favorite ko na problem palagi.. anong bibilin brand/model at anong kulay

thanks so much for all the replies. 'really appreciate all your inputs.

i decided to further delay my decision. anyway, it looks like that cx7 availability is not that serious anymore, which means i can still buy time to further delay my decision.

over the long weekend, i even got a chance to see the 2 units. saw a silver cx7 and it further confirms that exterior-wise, -1 vs tucson. Or it is just me being not a fan of grey or silver color?

then, last sunday, i had a chance to drive side-by-side with a black tucson (balintawak yung dealer, as no plate yet). not sure what variant, but it looks like gls 2wd. hataw sya. i was driving same color MS gls then and palitan lang kami to overtake each other. i purposely do that (not to challenge its speed) but so i can stare both front (medyo hirap lang coz rearview mirror, plus with a speed of 120-140kph delikado) and back, likewise its sides. Saka, i can't stay at high speed, medyo maingat ako sa sasakyan he he.

i was on convoy with relatives then and when we reached subic they praised the good look of the tucson (though i actually did not solicit any of their comments). that made me confirm further that its look is really superior than the other.

all i need to do is really weigh which of which is important for me...the interior or the exterior. interior, grabe talaga ganda ng cx7 but for the white color lang. coz i don't like the black-tan combination for other dark colored cx7. plus the functions, like auto-climate and the cruise controls just like sa camry...sarap gamitin nun sa sctex!

i agree to all that the most important factor in deciding which car to choose is my own self' preference. but i have solicited all your inputs since first hand experiences (especially for those who are owners already) are (at least for me) "real reviews". Media reviews are "one-time use kind of review". Plus the fact that this should be my first non-japanese car (if ever i will go for the IX), though not an issue for me meron naman 5 yr warranty.

this dilemna should have not been here only if HARI has the units.

    thanks again!

i both like and dont like the fact that the CX7 feels and drives like a car. Parang kulang sa substance (solidity)you get from an SUV esp. sa bumps. (although UMO mas malala ang RAV4 dito, parang malaking Vios lang ang pakiramdam) but overall, i like it better than the Tucson.

interior color motif of the local 7 is black and silver with seats being all black leather

i think the beige and other colors are for other markets (US and Europe, maybe Japan also)

for the recent deliveries from japan:

for white exterior - all black interior
for the 3 remaining colors - black, red and aluminum - two-tone black/ beige

Hi 111prez! So how is your CX-7 so far? consumption, ride (in uneven roads), suspension? My wife and I are looking for a 2nd car and we're thinking of the CX-7. Any problems you've encountered so far? Thanks so much in advance.

For months now i've had my eyes set on the new Tucson, but that changed when I saw the CX7 on the road. I like both style-wise - the Tucson with its modern feel and the CX7s classy and ***y look. Performance-wise though, I have no idea.

I would've added the Forester but since my dad's funding it (grad present) he's got a few opinions of his own. He doesn't like the Forester and the Sorento. My sister drives a CRV so that's out of the question. Am currently driving dad's Fortuner.

Will be using it mainly for city driving.

as much as i love the cx7, i'd go for the tucson right now. performance depends on what variant of tucson you'll get, if it's the crdi then the tucson will be faster. handling not sure since i haven't been able to drive the crdi variant yet, but against the cvvt gas versions the cx7 has a better handling. features tucson hands down, for me looks lang ang panalo ng cx7 but that's just for me, others might like the tucson's look better. cargo space are almost the same on both cars. yon nga lang good luck on trying to get a tucson, tagal mo pa mag aantay.

but out of your 4 choices, syempre sa forester na ko. not just because i have one but because it is the most fun car and has the best performance in it's class. downside is plain interior, bad fc and only one casa.

The CX7 is a nice car... better handling, grunty engine... and fuel economy is about right for a 2.5 liter car (similar or better than the 2.4 CR-V)... but the Tucson is, hands-down, a better package. More rear seat room. Diesels available. Tons of toys on the Premium variant.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Not all Mazda cars are gas guzzlers. Your experience with your mazda is not a basis for saying that all Mazda cars are malakas sa gas just because your mazda is malakas sa gas.

Different models have different engines, transmissions, weight, gearing, aerodynamics, etc. which are factors in fuel consumption

If you're willing to wait 3 mos or more, by all means get the better package. If not then, you got your answer.
