The Aura uses the wide version of the platform used by the Opel Vectra and Saab 9-3. It is the exact platform used by the Fiat Croma and Opel Signum so with it's Euro influence it may not be all that bad of a car. Besides I think GM is starting to understand how the market works Pontiac will soon be coming with the G8 based on the Holden VE Commodore and Chevy will have the new Camaro.
Well Toyota does have several hybrid models and the Tundra doesn't even come close to being the biggest gas guzzler pickup, that honor goes to the GM engines which can be had with a 6L V8.
