jimny is not a fuel efficient machine even though its on 1300 cc. however, it would be very good in fording floods. riding condition is also stiff.
ecosport, fuel efficient compared to jimny, good riding condition. however, i think the ground clearance would be a bit low to ford floods.

May mga rumors speculations na sa internet, not so happy bout them lang kasi parang bigger at di na classic ang look nung sinsabing new jimny.
Searching din ako for mini suv AT na pang harabas sana. Deal breaker lang talaga performance nitong dalawa based from my actual test drive for the ford and feedbacks i read for the suzuki. Unless mag improve mga ito, asx na siguro next best thing for me.
Btw, anyone knows saan may pa test drive jimny? tatlong dealers na nakausap ko puro wala test unit. Gusto ko lang sana malaman if i can live with the shortcomings i read about jimny.

TS..
We are in the same situation actually. Ecosport or Jimny as the 3rd family car. I got to test drive the Ecosport (matic) and the gearbox felt very uneasy and jerky.. Upshifts and downshifts had this certain nudge or jerky feeling to it. To make matters worse the unit we tested was just 6-7000 km in mileage and with that kind of gearbox I couldn't imagine how this would be 5-7 years down the road.
Now i've been to Suzuki Sucat, Alabang and Pasig and none of them would have a testdrive unit! "Test Ride" lang daw meron. Not cool.

Wow ganun kahirap? in that case erase, wait na lang for other option or improvements.
What is the probability kaya na i update engine ng jimny? Would a vvt help? And medyo OT but may better options ba sa gray market na hindi converted, jimny or other mini suv?

The 2005(?) up jimny already has the vvti engine. I don't know the exact year but that jimny has the 5spoke magwheels and the interior/dash is what you'd find sa website nila. It's still 1300cc though.
my jimny pre-ondoy used to do 10kpl mixed city/hiway. It's really a tough vehicle but really cramped for family use.
