Contemplating on getting a Tall and small SUV or CUV for third option, just for goin around metro manila, easy maintenance, not so dependent on electronic parts or components, availability of parts and can be fixed by any talyer in the future after warranty expires. Since it is small, FUel efficiency is also a factor. Tia.

Also flood survivability is also a big consideration.

Yes, medyo malakas sa gas ang jimny.

That figure is right. The jimny is my daily driven car. I average around 200kms per week with it and fills around 35li of fuel every saturday. The past few weeks, everyday ako nagpupunta sa site na puro highway, nakaka 250-260kms naman ako. Around 38liters naman ang consumed gas.

the jimy is a real capable mini suv the others are just posers- it can climb it can ford- no b.s.

the jimny consumes more fuel due to it's boxy shape, but it's engine is bullet proof same with the tranny, the only con is- too small and it doesn't have an abs PLUS EXPENSIVE

That's assuming you need an SUV for climbing and fording. Most people just want a car with increased ride height and durable suspension for our harsh roads and weather.

The Jimny offers that but with a lot of tradeoffs that just aren't worth it for the majority.

It has always been a niche car and will always be a niche car.

jimny is not a fuel efficient machine even though its on 1300 cc. however, it would be very good in fording floods. riding condition is also stiff.

ecosport, fuel efficient compared to jimny, good riding condition. however, i think the ground clearance would be a bit low to ford floods.

Matagtag jimny sobra. Parang pick-up na unladen. hehe

Wait ka na lang muna mga 1 year para malaman mo if may problem or okay ecosport. Mas sulit yun imho pero wait for reliability nga of the tranny.

There's such a thing as beta version, beta testing, long term ownership cost, rating, etc. With jimny, i wont have to think of that, i can just ask around.

But the real reason i would go with the jimny is that it looks like a mini Jeep. 👍

^Hmm. Malamang. Jimny looks cute but its definitely tough. Unless, papalitan na ang kaha ng high tensile lightweight steel... yung ecosport 1.5 if u load it up, hirap na, so baka ganun din ang fc.

May mga rumors speculations na sa internet, not so happy bout them lang kasi parang bigger at di na classic ang look nung sinsabing new jimny.

Searching din ako for mini suv AT na pang harabas sana. Deal breaker lang talaga performance nitong dalawa based from my actual test drive for the ford and feedbacks i read for the suzuki. Unless mag improve mga ito, asx na siguro next best thing for me.

Btw, anyone knows saan may pa test drive jimny? tatlong dealers na nakausap ko puro wala test unit. Gusto ko lang sana malaman if i can live with the shortcomings i read about jimny.

Wow ganun kahirap? in that case erase, wait na lang for other option or improvements.

What is the probability kaya na i update engine ng jimny? Would a vvt help? And medyo OT but may better options ba sa gray market na hindi converted, jimny or other mini suv?

I wonder what the FC of a Jimny is if you load it up? On second thought, how much of anything can be loaded into the tiny Jimny?

*oliver1013, if you don't plan to go off-roading and plan to carry adult passengers in comfort, consider the EcoSport.
If you plan to go off-roading and care little about rear seat space (or the lack of it), go for the bite-sized Jimny.
