in terms of PMS sa Honda ako.. 2x a year lang vs Toyota's 4x a year.. sobrang dami pa nag pa pa PMS sa Toyota.. in terms of cost nang PMS.. halos pareho lang.. if you know what to include and what NOT to include in the PMS.. pareho lang mga SA nila.. they will try to screw you by adding stuff sa PMS..

Naalala ko lang,- first gen Honda Jazz,- nawala ang busina after a few weeks,- defective meep-meep horn.... isa lang piyesa ang stock na busina
Honda acknowledged that they're replacing it under warranty, but we have to wait for 2 months for the parts...
Nakn*ngt3t3ng na iyan,- busina lang dalawang buwan???...
Pinalitan na lang namin ng maayos na busina... The hell with the electrical warranty...
And then the CVT fluid issue - unit was recalled after 2 years,- and the CVT issue itself...

Toyota,- I was never a believer... Well, our Innova changed that...
Our family only had a Toyota once - a first gen Vios which was mostly used to shuttle my wife's siblings back when they were kids. It was replaced by a 2009 City. My brother-in-law is still a loyalist with his Civic RS though its full potential not fully utilised (he has no intention to let me drive that car). I did love my old 6th gen Accord despite its quirkiness.
We could have had another Toyota now but my wife is never a fan of the Vios or Altis. She is also not a fan of the Fortuner or any of those PPVs. She did say that our next vehicle might be a Toyota and she has only two cars in mind - a Camry or an Innova.
Knock on Wood regarding the Honda CVT issue as we still own the 1.3 i-Dsi CVT. It still runs fine though now it is a bit thristy. Recent top of via Full tank method yielded 7.92 km/l for all city driving. A little thirstier than normal so might need to have it "honda serviced" next PMS.
Main issue with Honda (at least in our family's experience) is the high failure rate of the suspension parts after it reaches the 5 year mark. Once you have it raised on a lifter for servicing, the odds are high that once its wheels touches mother earth again, the suspension will fail. This happened to Uncle's Accord, CRV and Civic(s). While on our end it also happened with the City.
Toyota is a bit more "rock solid" in terms of durability of their wear and tear parts, but the trade off (For me at least) is the comfort or ride/handling.
We've leaned away from Toyota a bit given that they've heavily jacked up the price while offering lesser in the package when you compare them to the others in the competition (my perception after comparing).
To update, the car in question started jerking yesterday but it doesn't seem to be CVT related. Brought it to Honda and they'll check ignition coils and spark plugs. Haha!
Also, the idling of the car seems to need adjustment as well as I noticed after driving it again that it was dropping below 800rpm. I tested it out and increase the aircon fanspeed to 2 or 3 and while in a stop, the car died on me. It quickly restarted so it didn't seem like there was any other issue other than the 2 mentioned.
Jerking happened randomly while accelerating. I checked the gear it was in while in 7 speed mode and it does shift down to 1st gear by itself so it doesn't look like it is related to the transmission. But, since it was being serviced in Honda, I asked them to check the CVTF as well. They told me they advice changing every 2 years. Seems too frequent though but I let them change it as well.
So far, Honda has changed Spark Plugs (connected to jerking) and will need to fix Throttle Control (if I heard him right) to fix idling issue.
Connected to the idling issue is the aircon compressor that will need work per Honda but I told them just let me know first what those issues are but I won't have them done in Honda.
They are still diagnosing the ignition coils so they can't give me a definitive answer if it needs to be replaced.
CVT just changed CVTF but no apparent issue.
Was told there is some oil leaking through worn seals as well, both for engine oil and transmission.
So far, that's what I can update with. =)

Had a 2009 CITY E, same problem of fluctuating rpm, brought it twice at honda makati, made 'adjustments' but problem persisted.Finally was able to bring it at Honda manila bay which just opened at the time. Traced the problem to throttle body control, they just cleaned it ( 1000+) bill, and it never recurred. As to the suspension quirkiness, I totally agree with you that honda suspension are somewhat crashy, at least for the CITY.But the engine, 5AT, aircon are all good as well as it is thrifty.
Agree with the crashy suspension. More on “kablag” kapag deep potholes. Its an econo-car, so i dont expect that level of refinement.

Jazz & city sits on the same platform.
Only the accord retained the double wishbone suspension.

Accords up to the 8th generation (2008-2012) had the double wishbone front suspension. The 9th and 10th generations already moved to the McPherson strut suspension for the front.
There is a reason why the Accord is Honda’s most praised car as it has been a consistent performer ever since.
Not only the suspension of our old 6th gen but it’s the whole package. Accord platforms have good natural grip and the engine just is matched well with the chassis plus of course, the interior comfort.
