Kia Sorento 2009 EX 4x4 VGT

8km/L city driving. Highway mga 10-12km/L.

    No engine problems so far.

Replaced: Tie rod end, lower suspension arm, thermostat, radiator, water pump.

Stock turbo and intercooler. I can’t let it go since the ride is comfy. Even my friends compared it to the new fortuner and mux, mas comfy daw talaga sakyan. Matagtag ba talaga ang fortuner?

Talaga? We only have two ladder frame based SUVs. 2016 everest titanium premium 3.2L and this sorento. The rest puro unibody. Sorento 2nd gen, grand sta fe and 2012 sportage. Sorento 1st gen Compared to our everest, hands down mas comfy si everest.

Pero among the three unibodies, grand sta fe is the comfiest.

Yung 07 Santa Fe namin 5-6 lang. [emoji24] No idea kung bakit. One of the supervisors in Central Diesel drives a DM Santa Fe (forgot year), sabi nya 4-5 daw, and he lives in Ortigas.

Pero eto ba ay absolutely no highway driving, at bumper to bumper ang traffic?

No highway driving. One click full tank method yung ginagawa kong pang compute.

Eto last 4 full tanks ko.

    Shell: 338.4km / 57.08L = 5.92km/L
    Shell: 537.5km / 65.13L = 8.25km/L
    Shell: 206.0km / 33.89L = 6.07km/L
    Shell: 423.1km / 43.06L = 9.83km/L

    18inch wheels 255/55 rubbers.

Most likely different traffic conditions. I also have similar variance in my fillups (all city driving also):

Mine seems to be more or less the same, no matter what I do.

Our other cars also have less variance. But those are driven on almost the exact same routes daily (house-school and house-office only).

Different traffic conditions. Minsan din when I wait for someone naka on lang sasakyan ko for 30mins without moving. Minsan kasi umuuwi na ako ng gabi. Mga 70% around 10pm above na. Wala ng traffic. Mga 30kms ave distance per day.

2.2 ba yang 07 santa fe? I mean yung hindi pa revgt? Or 2.5 d4cb same sa sorento ko? Medyo mababa nga. Ilang psi ba ang tires mo? Nasa 32 yung akin eh. Minsan 35. Comfy parin. By the way, I had my EGR blanked. Umuusok na kasi sorento ko stucked open yung egr valve kaya kulang pwersa sa turbo. Pina blank ko malaki difference. 2 yrs na ata ito naka blank.

Yes 2.2 D4EB engine. 35 psi tire pressure.

I once considered EGR blanking, but both Speedlab and Central Diesel advised against it... No smoke though.

I did my egr blanking because I can really feel the sluggishness of my car and there’s always a big puff of black smoke when starting to accelerate.

But blanking is thought to increase fuel consumption because there is more fresh air. I maybe wrong though. Buti nalang di ka nagpa blank. 5-6km in manila traffic is I think normal. If meron ka kakilala compare mo sa kanila fuel economy mo para meron ka baseline. The worst I got with my sorento is 5ish km/L.

EGR blanked na rin almost 4 years na
