Objectively, Calsonic (Nissan's A/C supplier) does use a larger evaporator and condenser when compared class per class. And yes, other a/c brands used by other manufacturers are adequate also. But when it comes to handling higher temps, Calsonic systems do it more efficiently.

As for ground clearance, what is mentioned in the brochure is ground clearance at the lowest point of the vehicle (usually under a differential or axle). If you want something for use on water, get a vehicle with a higher step in height (measured from the ground to the bottom of the door). So you'll have less worry of water coming into the cabin. Also note the placement of the air intake. The Strada has it on the leading edge of the hood which is not my preferred location. For a truck, I'd rather get somthing that draws air from inside the fender, behind a headlamp or orther more protected areas. There is a gasket protecting the air intake on the Strada, though. Which would be adequate for most of us already.

As for being old. I'm no fashionista. If I like a car, I wouldn't care if a newer model comes out. My current vehicle is superseded by 2 facelifts already. Yet I don't feel bad about being the 'old model' because I love my rig.

My biggest gripe about the Strada is the smallish bed. But if you're not hauling anything large, then it's ok. Strada 4x2 and 4x4 models share the same high rider chassis. Not sure about Navaras.
